(OOC: Davesprite will be traveling all over the residential zones, generally headed east from house 58 next to the ice tunnels off toward where the split tunnels are. Jade will eventually kill him there, but he is open for encounters otherwise! Feel free to PM me or contact me on plurk if you want to plot anything more specific.)

[When the watery effect fades, when Davesprite shuffles out the now unlocked door to the stopped-snow scenery outside, the wariness and unease that settle in are nothing new. He's been paranoid for days, and worse still for the last couple, boxed in with too many people and the inescapable metal shifting from Alphonse's presence. And what good can that pain have meant, or the glow that overtook his companions' eyes? He's read up on what Norfinbury can inflict, and he doesn't trust this in the least.]

[So, whether or not his fellow travelers try to stop him first, he leaves. It might be a stupid move, considering how he died the last time he ventured out into the snow when things went strange, but it feels the safer bet just now. He's fast, faster than he should be by all rights. He doesn't even feel the chill.]

[And he knows he's conspicuous. Even without the glow of his eyes behind his sunglasses, he's a floating, orange bird person. No one else here looks the way he does. And worse, he needs his tablet open to check the map as he goes. He can't afford to get lost in the snow again.]

[So he skulks from building to building, hiding himself behind ruins as he can, trying now and then at a locked door the further east he goes. Even before he knows the real danger, he doesn't trust people. Anyone spotted will get a terse non-greeting, "Keep your distance," to those he doesn't know, and "What do you want?" to those familiar. Regardless, once he's aware of someone near, he doesn't dare turn his back to them.]

[Something was wrong with Clint and Tony.

He and Nastasha had tried to stick together, and Bucky was sure she was around here somewhere, but they had become separated briefly in the strange stillness of the landscape. He's creeping along, managing to be inconspicuous despite wearing all black against a backdrop of white snow, when he sees a splash of orange up ahead.

Stopping a safe distance away, he holds his hands palm out to show he's not armed.]

Are you hurt?

[ Caboose isn't exactly good at realising when something weird is going on. His life is weird. Norfinbury is weird. Normalcy is not, and never really has been a thing. At least Church is here! Church, his bestest friend, who can always be relied upon to point out when things are feeling really fucked up and declare that they should both just bunker down for the night instead of wander around in the snow.

Which is fine. It's a good plan. Caboose does love naps, and not marching in the snow, and being alone with his Very Best Friend Church. Everything is great.

Kinda. There's a weird feeling in the pit of his stomach, and he feels kind of... kind of... grumbly. It feels a little bit like O'Malley is back, but without all the laughing.

Church will know what to do. Church always knows what to do. ]

[ He sits up, grabs his helmet, and starts passing it from hand to hand. ]

Psssssssssst. Church. Church, are you awake. Church.

[ It isn't hard to notice Caboose out in the snow. He's tall, built like a brick shithouse, and is ranting about sunners and non-Beliebers as he repeatedly makes - and breaks - really shitty snowmen. Gee, which side of this whole thing could he possibly be on? We just don't know.

He's probably best avoided if you're a glowy-eyed sinner. It shouldn't be too difficult, with him so clearly distracted.

Except whether your eyes glow or not, if you get too close a robotic voice announces your presence. Loudly. Ruh-roh. ]

[Weird shit isn't exactly anything new by this point. Their life back home was full of weird shit, life in Norfinbury has been full of weird shit, this is just one more weird thing on a long, long list.

Doesn't mean Church has to like it, though. It's creepy, and unsettling, and he was really hoping they could just sleep through it or something.

But of course that's not going to happen.]

[Alfie starts this whole shebang in the hotel, and by god he's going to end it there. It's a good building to be in already - there's a lot of rooms, a lot of space, and a lot of hiding places - and he absolutely doesn't trust nighttime travel. He's not setting a foot outside that front door, because he seriously doubts that anything good is waiting for him out there.

But of course, nothing good is waiting for him inside, either - not with the way people are turning insane. He's one of the few people in his group who seems to have his head screwed on straight, and so he'll be spending most of the night defending himself and defending Royce. He'll be exhausted and sick, which will work against him - but he also has a horrifying number of weapons and he's not afraid to use them.]

OOC: OTA! Tifa, Emily, and/or Claire get first dibs on his death if it happens, but I'm 100% up for him getting into fights before that. If you have a non-glowy character that you want to be killed in self-defense, he can be your guy!

For Alfie and Royce

[He moves fast--faster than he has since arriving. It'd almost be refreshing if not for the fact that everyone else moves with the same swiftness. But one moment he's near the ice tunnels and in the next few he's made it back into the downtown area. The upper parts of the city are too dangerous and crawling with too many people to effectively avoid... Undertaker might have better luck here, in a more out of the way area.

He's been to the hotel before, and it's his first thought of where to head as his feet practically fly over the snow. His strategy's in a similar vein as Alfie's it seems; head for the building with the most rooms and places to hole up until dawn.

Getting inside isn't the issue. It's avoiding the people already there that may trip him up. He can only hope they're too distracted to take notice of him, though the flashlight intensity of his eyes manages to pierce through his long bangs. And he stops short at the doorway of a first floor room when he hears a muffled cough and the scuffle of feet somewhere nearby.]

(( OOC: Sylar has glowing eyes, but is fully intent on defending himself to the point of murder. If you want your prophet-eyed character murdered, let me know in ooc comments or on plurk! If you'd like to injure him, go right ahead. He will eventually be murdered by Sherlock. Until then, he'll be running all over the entrance and residential areas, so feel free to encounter him. ))

[ He knew something was coming, with regards to the Prophet, but he had no idea it would be this extreme. He's almost relieved that the other shoe finally dropped. Of course, it would've been nicer if he actually had something to fight with. Right now, it's just a candle holder in one pocket and a door knob and fishing line in the other. He's gotten creative before, but bludgeoning just really isn't his style.

He's highly aware of any sound out in the snow, and upon someone's approach, he says nothing until he gets a good look at their eyes. Either way, when someone gets close enough that it's clear he's going to cross their path, he says in a quiet, low, warning tone: ]

Don't bother me and I won't bother you. Understand?

[He's not even sure how he got here, the world is a confusing mess of urges and impulses that he's trying his absolute hardest to ignore. The faint hint of prophet-style eyes can probably be made out just behind his scarf.]

Mr. Taylor, you-- you should get away.

[He really doesn't want to attack, but it's getting harder the longer he's here.]

(OOC: Royce is staying in the hotel for the entirety of the event - he's going to end the night being killed by Tifa/Emily but BY ALL MEANS please, if you wanna hunt him or hide with him tag in! If you wanna plot the specifics, PM me or contact me on plurk!)

[The dizziness freaks him out almost more than anything else. For a moment, he thinks he's losing his balance again, like after he died - but then it stops, and the doors open.

This feels like chaos. Like a bad idea, to step out into the snow. The hotel is quiet and the best bet for hiding, even with his glowing eyes (don't think about it, it's too much to think about) and he agrees with Alfie when Alfie says they should stay. It's just - Tifa and Emily are acting strange. Claire, as well. Royce stays far away from Peter, from anybody else who wanders into the hotel.

He can be found hiding, if you look. Open a cabinet or a wardrobe or look under a bed and he might be there, eyes closed, ears straining to hear people sneaking up on him. Beware, though - surprise him, and supporter of the prophet or not, he'll probably attack. He doesn't need sleep, he's got mania. He'll be fine.

Or maybe his twitchiness will give him away. ]

[Tifa has spent most of the day trying to avoid as many people as possible, and she's failed miserably. By the time she reaches the hotel again, she's given up fighting the thoughts that keep creeping into her mind. Her head is pounding and she's a little dizzy, but Hitsugaya getting away has only made her more determined to fix it. No wonder she's felt useless, like she's been spinning her wheels, since her arrival. It's Royce and Alfie and the others that are ruining the town and trapping them here, and she was stupid to pretend otherwise.

Even more stupid was leaving Emily with them. Emily can't defend herself, and there's no telling what they'll do to her if given half the chance. Tifa makes a beeline for the first room, moving lightly as she does. She knows Royce will be hiding, and she doesn't trust him not to try to ambush her if he feels like he's cornered. Alfie will be easier, she thinks—he's sick and exhausted, and less likely to tuck himself away like a coward.]

[At some point during the chaos, Natasha become separated from the rest of her group and ends up in the residential district. There's no real way to hide herself against the snow when she's in black from head to toe, so she sticks close to the buildings and the rubble, a letter opener in one hand and a length of braided twine wrapped around one wrist. Her eyes are glowing faintly, and they scan the landscape constantly. She's not so much jumpy as careful, maybe almost paranoid, and anyone who approaches gets a thorough once over. If she can just avoid the people trying to kill her and protect the ones that are in danger, maybe this day won't go as terribly as she's expecting. Of course, things rarely go the way she plans.]

[ooc; Natasha is getting killed by Clint later, but I'm 100% up for her getting into fights before then! If anyone wants their prophet eyed characters killed in self-defense, let me know!]

[Ecks, too, is dressed head to toe in one color -- but hers is a mottled gray designed for very nearly this precise situation. Against snow she makes a dark blot, but against rubble she can be all but invisible now that she has shucked all the unnecessary gear weighing her down and ruining her camouflage. She knows this. She understands well how to leverage it.

It's Natasha's eyes that give her away, like the eyes of all sinners and infidels reveal them. Ecks takes her time in picking her way closer, moving from shadow to shadow at only the right moments. She is quiet, and she is so, so patient, and she already knows exactly where and how she will strike the fatal blows with her shovel.]

For a short while of the start of the event, Bruce will be unconscious in the post office where the fleeing Joker left him. (Feel free to tag this to play it out, Psi!) He's going to be chasing the Joker and running into other people. Also, he's a murderer. YIKES. Feel free to tag running into him/hunting him. If you'd like to plan anything out, PM this journal or ping me on plurk, moetan.

[When he opens his eyes, there's just one thing on his mind: he feels good. It doesn't even occur to him that he feels too good, only that the lack of chill soaking through the suit is wonderful, the open doors are wonderful. Everything is wonderful, especially the strange urge to--kill the prophet.

For a minute or two, he mills about the post office as if he'll somehow find the Joker hiding. Come out, come out. But the Joker is long gone, leaving Bruce frustrated. He thinks he should be worried the Joker has left his custody, but in the back of his mind, it's more than just that. The Joker has escaped his retribution. (He shouldn't think this way. He shouldn't. He can't.

No good will come of it.)

The halted snowy outside greets him when he leaves, and perhaps he'll be concerned later when he thinks back on it. Find the prophet Joker. He can make this right.]

[Joker stands at the window with his hand on his hip, waiting for the doors to unlock and gazing out at the dark snows through glowing green eyes.

Is he losing his mind all over again or are the snowflakes frozen in time? He feels more like he's looking at a photograph than anything else.]

Whoo boy, Bats, the servers got all frozen up again. Are you seeing this?

building 199, museum

[it seemed like a good idea, at first, to double back to the museum. the collapsed apartment didn't provide enough space for evasive maneuvers, and there was no way francel was going to outrun the person chasing him. his leg has gotten better, but not by much: he's been running, though not very well, and every heavy step makes his ankle flare with pain. still, he's been running — because even he knows that everything will hurt far worse if he stops.

when he arrives at the museum he makes for the employee area where their excavation crew had previously trapped the spider anomalies. it's only after he enters the room that he realizes this was a mistake. he doesn't have anything to barricade the doors with — except himself, of course, but his own strength has never been enough for any situation, much less this.

but he's scared — and he doesn't remember the last time he felt this way.]

[ooc | CAT IS A MURDERER. For the sake of everyone's comfort, I will not be tagging out with him. I am fine with him getting killed, though he needs to kill Dug first. I am also fine with people fighting him off and with writing that out, but I know I don't want to write my character killing an animal and I certainly don't expect any of you to.

The Cat prowls the snow, both faster and slower than ever before. He takes his time, scenting out his prey despite the bitter cold dulling the smell of everything in this gods-cursed place.

It will be difficult, limited as he is without his powers. But he has been around mortals for eons, and he knows how they move, how they think. If he picks the right prey he can destroy them.

And stars, he may even get a meal out of it.

[Dug wishes that he was not alone, even though he's also very afraid of what it would mean to find a person right now. He got separated from the others early in the night, when it seemed like everyone scattered at once, and now --]

[He freezes in place, glowing brown eyes shutting for a few seconds as he lifts his nose to scent the air. Something? Something! He lets out a whine, torn between calling out again, finding the source...or trying to quietly slip away. He compromises, his electronic voice soft.]

I can smell you.

[ When it starts, Rhys leaves his companions. Not them. Not... yet.

The thought bothers him, at first. Just at first. Before long, Rhys is hunting -- not a position he's used to, at least when the subject is living, but he's a remarkably adaptable fellow.

Later, he switches to a stapler. Later still, he graduates to a sizable shard of glass.

[ooc: Undertaker is going to be attacked and severely wounded by Hange and Anderson, then killed by Rhys. [85: This single-story house is too ruined for most of it to be useable. In fact, every room is missing at least one wall. There's only one room that seals and locks: a small hallway coat closet. It will fit one person--maybe two if you really squeeze in.

And it seems to already be occupied. Even if the closet door should open and the knob turns slightly, it seems to be held shut from the other side. Eventually if the attempts to enter don't lessen, a voice calls muffled from behind the door.]

I found it first; go somewhere else!

Closed to House

[He's out in the open again, the feeling that he needs to find shelter and hide almost overwhelming. Luckily the speed at which he's moving is a welcome return of familiar abilities, even if his strength and resilience are still not what they used to be. He's made it into the split tunnels to the east, dodging the sound of others moving about in the dark and the occasional flash of large eyes. He knows he's being hunted, but if he can just keep evading them a bit more...

A house's opening provides him a place to duck into for now, the bright glow from his eyes picking up the color of blue spray paint on the floor. It appears to be surrounding a hole, which Undertaker approaches and leans his head over to see down.]

OTA Murderers or Would-be Murderers

[Maybe he was caught out in the open or chased out of hiding, but Undertaker is not going down easily. He may be breathing hard from running so much, but he's wielding a baseball bat like he means serious business (and in fact, he does), and he hits hard. He'll evade as far as he can and attempt to turn the tables on any pursuers, whether it's doubling-back around the rubble piles, dropping down from a rooftop or suddenly turning to crack a well-aimed swing at knees or heads.

He's a tricky foe to bring down.]

[Too focused on saving his own skin, Undertaker will ignore other character's cries for help, or bypass gruesome murder going on nearby. But if he spies someone he knows, he'll be more inclined to assist them. Or he might just butt into someone else's hiding spot.]

[House's voice is low, coming from a corner of the room in the back. He pushes his beanie up, eyes glowing with an ethereal blue light once they're open and visible.]

[A: Open]

[Sherlock's mind is his own, his bastion of strength, the one thing he can always rely on. So he's doing pretty well at fighting the impulses. He is not a murderer, no matter what some people might think of him, he's the man who catches murderers. Perhaps he might be more swayed if the doors aren't all open and there's a possibility to gather more information.

He's testing how fast he can move, as well as trying to get to the hospital in the aim of getting into the morgue and see what's happening there. Anyone can feel free to see him darting through the snow like a ridiculous cliche with his long coat billowing out behind him while he runs.]

[B: Locked to Death the Kid]

[Somehow he's become turned around. He meant to reach the hospital, but he's found himself at the aquarium. Isn't this where John was coming to perform his amputation? Slight concern enters his head and worms its way under the impulses that keep battering at his self control, forcing his steps to slow as he moves through the building looking for either his friend or clues as to his whereabouts.]

[C: Locked to Stein]

[He removed John's eye.

That in itself is reason enough for retribution, especially coming from a man who once dropped a man out of a window (several times) for daring to put a hand on Mrs. Hudson. But more than that, when he sees Stein, the man has glowing eyes that call to the darkest whispers of his mind. He has betrayed the town and his fellow residents, and for that he must pay.

Sherlock doesn't bother with a pithy opener, going for the element of surprise by trying to catch the man from behind and wrap an arm around his throat.]

[D: Locked to Sylar]

[Having already killed one man, Sherlock finds it impossible to resist the urge to kill more. But some part of his self control remains, some part of his morals, and he finds himself deliberately seeking out those that he knows are guilty of wrong-doing beyond the sin of having glowing eyes.

Gabriel is an obvious target.

So he smiles when he sees the man across the shadowed room, bruised knuckles straining as he balls his hands into fists once more.]

Gabriel.

[Low, threatening.]

[Disoriented and now without any sense of depth perception, Kid runs directly into Sherlock as he makes his way for the front door of the aquarium in a haze of panic. All over the teen are bloody finger- and handprints. His face is smudged with it. Even the three unusual stripes in his hair haven't been spared, spattered with droplets of blood. There's a makeshift bandage haphazardly pressed hard against his right eye socket; Kid's visible golden eye is staring at the stranger in horror. It glows faintly in the dim aquarium lighting.

Coughing hard and bringing up blood--at least that is not unusual--Kid holds up a hand to show he means the other man no harm.]

Ah--I'm sorry! [The hand covering his mouth joins its mate, and Kid looks over his shoulder. No sign of Stein. No sign of Watson; the key to the handcuffs remained safety in his innermost jacket pocket.] I didn't see you.

[A: Open]

[As soon as Al began to feel the urge to hurt the people he was with, the only one with strange prophet style eyes among a group of glowing eyed friends, Al tries to get away. He doesn't want to hurt anyone, especially not his brother, and the best thing he can do for all of them is to keep flitting across the town looking for solitude.

If he comes across anyone, he will take up a ready stance and hold both hands palm up to ward them off getting closer.]

Stay back, there's something wrong with me.

[B: Locked to House]

[The night is wearing on and Al is losing more and more of himself.

In a last ditch effort to keep himself from hurting anyone, he darts across the town far faster than it should be possible for him to move, until he reaches the tunnels. He's never been inside before, but perhaps if he can get to one of the dead ends then he can wall himself away there until morning comes and stop himself from hurting anyone.

That is, until he runs headlong into someone else running in the opposite direction.]

Dr. House?

[There's a moment of lucidity, before he notices those eyes, and he immediately shifts into a fighting stance.]

You-- What have you done?!

[C: For Sheena]

[He's lost.

Spattered in House's blood, Al is much slower now as he moves. More deliberate, on the hunt rather than trying to get away. He catches a brief flash of movement from his left and changes direction to catch up.]

Sheena!

[He calls out to her, deceptively friendly.]

Wait, it's just me. It's Al.

B

[It's dark in the tunnels, and even with his penlight, House can barely see anything. He's moving fast to get away from Rhys, though, having just dodged away from the other man. His focus is more on what's behind than what's ahead apart from immediate obstacles, and so, he finds himself bouncing off of a hard, metal body too late.

He grunts, backing up and shining his light at the person- Al. Al who has stylized Prophet eyes where the eye holes on his armor should be.]

Shit.

[That's all House says before making a beeline off in another direction. He's near the apartment that you have to climb into a hole to get inside. Al might be too big to make it. He's going to have to rely on that for the moment. There's nowhere else safe to run.]

[A: Open]

[This really isn't helping his paranoia.

Bucky is moving carefully from building to building looking for survivors, looking for people who might be hurt. For once he isn't the one being controlled to hurt others, and that makes him all the more determined to do the right thing and try and help where he can.

Not that he makes a very comforting presence, appearing like a ghost in the doorways and shadows of buildings, wearing black leather and scowling intensely.]

[B: Locked to Tifa]

[He's absolutely coated in blood.

Some of it's Natasha's, some of it's Clint's, and some of it is his own. He's beyond exhausted, pushed to the limits of his emotional and physical possibilities, and the night still isn't done.

He hears a sound, a soft patter of footsteps elsewhere in the house, and he pushes himself to his feet again.]

Show yourself.

[It's a low demand, friend or foe?]

[ooc: Bucky is being killed by Tifa, but I am absolutely open to him getting into fights before that or running into other people running away.]

[ She doesn't want this. She isn't entirely sure why she doesn't want this. The reasoning keeps slipping from her grasp like so much smoke. But she remembers that she at some point in the night decided that it had to end.

She thought about finding the Joker. He would be fun to kill. But the thought made her too afraid, and she couldn't make herself hold on to the idea. Instead she thinks of Bucky. She doesn't hate him, but she doesn't like him either, and a thought in the back of her head keeps telling her that he can stop this, and he must.

It takes searching, but she knew where to start looking for him. There's a bloody letter opener gripped tight in her right hand as she goes from house to house. ]

[At first, Tifa tries to stay hidden in the hotel like Alfie and Royce. The disquieting thoughts were easy to push aside in the beginning, but they get worse and worse, until finally, after picturing the precise way she might wrestle Royce's knife away from him and turn it on him, she leaves.

She wanders through town for a bit, disturbed by the speed with which she moves and the fact that everything seems frozen, not even the cold touching her. It doesn't take long for Andersen to bump into her, and she freezes at first, terrified those awful thoughts will start up again. But she turns to face him and... nothing. For a second, she stays utterly still, and then she lets out a shaky breath and leans down to hug him tightly.]

Andersen!

[As soon as the impulses had started, John had cuffed himself to the plumbing under one of the sinks in the aquarium. Kid had been thrown the key with the instruction to get the hell away from him, and that had been about that. His pack is out of reach... but the scalpel is still in his pocket. This is too much to deal with right now. His right eye is gone, completely removed thanks to Stein's efforts and his own idiocy in trusting the other man--the sinner--even an inch.

John's stitched it closed with his sewing kit, and there a patch over it now--another bloodstain for his bandana--held in place with a colorful sweatband. He's the world's most ridiculous pirate. He's in pain and has taken a pair of the fentora tablets, both to ease the pain and to make him more docile if someone with glowing eyes accidentally steps in.

There's still that scalpel in his pocket...]


A - Glowing Eyes
[Unfortunately, there's no love lost for those with glowing eyes. The urge to kill them, to destroy them before they destroy the town, just keeps growing. When John catches sight of one of them entering into the bathroom, he goes still, body tensing.]

You're absolute scum. You know that, right?


B - Prophet Eyes
[It's better for those with Prophet Eyes. There's no desire to hurt them. They're one of the ones who know what needs to be done. John's foolishly put himself out of commission for the night, but this person is an ally. His words are a little slurred.]

How's it going out there?

[ Sylar is not getting close. He didn't know what happened to the scalpel, but he wouldn't doubt Watson would take him apart, if he could. He's staying out of arm's reach and pointing his own tablet's camera at Watson. Yes, he is recording. ]

Aw, really? And after I went to such trouble to check on you. How're you doing, Doctor Watson?

[After his brother fled the house they had all holed up in, Ed found himself conflicted, concerned for Alphonse of course but then he knew better than to follow after his brother once he had more pieces of the puzzle but also realized that he himself needed to prepare to defend himself against anyone else who had been affected in a similar manner to his younger brother. He'd tried to keep a low profile while outside, having to duck into a quick hiding spot once or twice when he heard someone else approaching.

But right now, Ed Is busy searching for something to defend himself with, anything. As useless as it might have been a low thrumming sense of desperation has him trying to pull anything apart from buildings. The golden glow coming from his eyes doesn't seem to make keeping hidden very easy, and he realizes, angrily, that that may be the point of the whole thing to begin with. It's a sick game no matter the side people wound up on.

Ed kicks the side of a building with his metal food in a fit of anger, teeth clenched together. The sound winds up being louder than he expected, and he freezes. Out of the corner of his eyes he sees something move, and Ed whirls around with his hands up in his usual fighting stance. In a situation like this, he really, REALLY misses his alchemy.]

[When your heart is beating hard enough that you can feel it in your head and in your eardrums, it makes it hard to keep thoughts connected and clear, but SOMEHOW Ed has managed to stay safe enough and survive long enough to find a supposedly empty house with a good defensible spot off in a corner behind an old broken piece of furniture that used to be a couch perhaps, but also where he can watch the two windows and one door that lead outside. There's not much else inside the building, but there does seem to be a kitchen and just opposite of where he's currently hiding another door leads to a rather large closet.

He'd thought about trying to block the door, but that would have made it too obvious that someone was inside, so instead he hid himself in the shadows with the hood of his coat over his head to hopefully hide the golden glow coming from his eyes. At least it isn't cold, though Ed would more than happily take back the freezing temperatures if it meant that this particular horseshit wasn't happening.

But here he was, pushing back at the fear that was trying so hard to erupt from the bottom of his stomach, while trying to just stay alive. He's almost started to relax, when he hears something outside the house crunch. All at once he's sitting up straighter, eyes darting to look towards the windows and doors again.]

[ It had all started out as a faint whisper- just like before he remembers vaguely. Those voices. There'd been a chorus of them, but back then they had been divided, a mishmash of conflict murmuring in the backdrop of feverish writing. But now it's just a solid chant in his head.

Kill.

Kill.

Kill.

Kill the sinners.

Kill them all.

The chant drums along to the crunching of his footsteps until he finally stops. Finally pauses and looks up toward the oddly open doorway. Curiosity gets the better of him or maybe it's suspicion and shortly after he's turning into the house, boots clomping against the hardwood floor as he studies the room with faintly glowing eyes. ]

A - Closed to Steph and Zach
[House isn't usually one to rely on gut feelings, but there's a very sudden sense of foreboding when the whole world swims and there's the telltale click of the door unlocking. The air is no longer freezing cold, he's not cold, and when he opens the door, there's a stillness to the entire world--a silence--that's wholly unnatural.

The blindness for the other two earlier in the day and the pain radiating through his own body, coupled with the changes for their eyes are in House's mind.]

Hey... are either of you cold anymore?


B - Closed to Quark
[It's still relatively early in the evening when House gets away from Steph and Zach. He makes a beeline for the museum, thinking he can hide out there in one of the many side rooms. What he sees when he gets there, in the narrow beam of light cast by his penlight, is a familiar hat sat atop a boy's head.]

Quark? Where-

[And then Quark turns and House sees his eyes. God damn it.]

How do you feel?

[The answer to that, whether it's verbal or physical, will determine whether or not House turns and runs. Because he's sure as hell not fighting Quark.]


C - Closed to Stein, Ecks, and Clint
[House is in the apartment with the giant hole and stakes, beanie drawn low, eyes opened just a sliver to watch for anyone coming. His ears are on alert, as well. The doctor is curled up as must as he can be hidden in a back corner of the room. His jump rope is set up near the doorway as a trip wire. The unwary will find themselves falling headlong into the marked hole at the center of the room.

He hears someone first, and when he looks down into his hand mirror, aiming it at the door, he sees a large figure. A large figure with glowing eyes. House breathes out a sigh of relief. It's not a big one, but small mercies.]

You don't wanna pitch head-first into the hole in the floor, step high. There's a trip wire near you. Get in, sit down, close your eyes, and be quiet. The disciples are everywhere.


D - Closed to Joker and Rhys
[Building 221 is a miniature fortress in its own rights. There's no real way to prevent people coming in, but there's plenty to hide behind, and that's just what House does when he finds it. He wedges himself behind an upturned table and just stays quiet. There have been too many close calls tonight. Clint and Ecks had been there to kill him, and he'd watched a man rip a girl apart at the seams. The doctor is terrified, only daring to speak to check in periodically with Wilson. The other man is just hiding, as well, doing his best to avoid being found.

'How are you at hide and seek?' House had asked, humor his last defiant line of defense.

Wilson's dark reply had followed, 'Fine, just as long as no one calls olly olly oxen free.'

The idea that they could be compelled out into the open just as the others are being compelled to murder weighs heavily in his mind. But he's calling into Wilson now with another update--one hour after the last one.]

Marco.

[He waits for his friend's reply of 'Polo.' But the sound of someone moving, entering into the house has him shutting off his tablet in a hurry, whole body tensing. Had that been loud enough for someone else to hear? Is it someone with the Prophet eyes?]

[Quark's head is swirling with thoughts of violence and anger and righteousness when House addresses him. He stiffens, turning slowly. He hadn't heard anyone approach. Honestly, didn't even know where he was going himself, or really where he was to begin with. He sees House for what he is now: a sinner. A bad person. Just like everyone was always saying. It makes his throat tighten.

He doesn't want to hurt House.

The knife clutched in his right hand is already covered in blood. It looks pretty fresh.

Quark sways on his feet, his expression clearly conflicted even with his strange eyes.]

Why...are you one of them?

[ OOC: Hitsugaya (glowing eyes-kun) will be receiving a weapon from Natasha; knocking out Andersen, Tifa, and Zach; and then finally be killed by Hange. In the meantime, he'll be running around the residential buildings, hiding around corners and such until he finally settles at the school. If you want your character killed, let me know! ]

A - Closed to Natasha
[ The woman dressed in black certainly stands out against the snow; not like Hitsugaya's any better in his black shinigami uniform, but his hair and cape at least conceal some of him while he has his back up against one of the buildings. She's dangerously close, and she hasn't seemed to notice him yet; but Hitsugaya is on-guard and ready to defend himself should she try anything funny.

When he gets a closer look at her eyes, however, he can see that they're glowing faintly; a part of him stops tensing up, but he's still paranoid and distrusting of anyone, ally or not. And he's not sure how to feel about seeing her with a bunch of weapons in her hands. ]

B - OTA
[ After receiving his weapon from Natasha--a pair of hedge clippers, which look unusually large when he's holding it--Hitsugaya's on his own, constantly on the move and making his way slowly towards the school. However, he doesn't make a clear-cut path there, and shuffles through various buildings in the residential district, so as to try and scope out the area and search for any potential threats.

His eyes, glowing a faint, light shade of blue, are constantly scanning the area, and anyone who approaches him will be greeted with scrutiny. Ally or not, Hitsugaya's not taking any chances here with anyone.

He's small, so moving around and hiding in strange nooks and crannies aren't too much of a problem for him; but when he's on the move, his black uniform stands out against the snow. He knows there's a chance he'll get seen. ]

[Natasha spots Hitsugaya after a moment, and she stops, studying him carefully until she catches the glow of his eyes. Once she does, her posture relaxes slightly, but she still doesn't approach. He looks young, and she wants to help, but she also doesn't want to scare him off, and he already looks on edge.]

A - For Charlie and Quark

[Charles is already on edge when his friends' eyes turn into drawings and his own (even the dead one) start glowing an eerie pale blue. He's trying not to read too much into it. And then lockdown happens. Or... un-happens? For some reason, Charles decides to try the door, and it opens. Time outside looks frozen.

Okay, what?] You guys seeing this? [He's not willing to move all the way through the door yet, just in case.] I'm not sure I trust it enough to go out there.

B - Open to All!

[After running from his bros back in the split tunnels, Charles is going to try and keep moving. He'll be mostly in the residential areas, but he'll be making a trip downtown to the hotel as well. He will AVOID THE HOSPITAL AT ALL COSTS and therefore CANNOT be found in the Entrance, but anywhere else is fine!

A few notes: Charles is on paranoia level 2, and his specific fear is that people mean to hurt him and are chasing him. So... yeah. He's going to be On Edge. He's also carrying multiple lethal weapons (a hatchet, four knives) and is perfectly willing to kill in order to save himself.

I do not have a death planned for him yet, so if you'd really like to be his killer, that can potentially be arranged!]

[That's someone she recognizes. And even if they haven't had the most pleasant of histories, that hardly matters right now. Anybody she recognizes is - or at least could be - helpful. Especially when she has multiple priorities here.]

Hey! [It's as loud as she dares it to be, preferring to close the distance than be loud right now. Though even then she makes sure to stop a good distance away.] Where's Quark?

[She doesn't have much in the way of weaponry, but she does have a corkscrew on hand, with the sharp end sticking out between her fingers.]

[At some point, Amber became separated from Wilson and ended up on her own. She's doing her best to stay hidden and not attract any attention...but she's not exactly a born spy. Her bright, glowing eyes give her away as one of the "sinners" that everyone's after, but that's not to say she plans on going down without a fight. Unversed in fighting as she may be, Amber clutches onto a long wooden handle with a jagged, broken end.

Regardless of a person's eyes, her immediate reaction to seeing anyone approach will be to thrust her weapon out menacingly.]

Stop! Don't you get any closer.

[She tightens her grip, trying to look as intimidating as possible. She...actually does a pretty good job. Guess that's what being "Cutthroat Bitch" will get you.]

[To Ecks's credit, she obeys the command...for now. She stands with her head cocked, shifting her shovel thoughtfully in her hand as she straightens from where she was attempting to creep up unseen to stand in full view. Unfortunate that she has been spotted. It is always easier when they are surprised.]

[And the brief reprieve is over as she begins to walk closer, slow, steady, and emotionless.]

A - Earlier in the night (ambush)

[Something's gone wrong. She doesn't have to be a rocket scientist to be able to tell, and to have caught distant glimpses of people chasing each other around. Between that and the pain earlier...

Rather than just run or wander aimlessly, she sets herself up in an abandoned, partially destroyed building. One with a good vantage point. Any wanderers nearby - of any kind - may hear the smallest of noises from it. A piece of debris falling, a scuffing sound, just enough to maybe make them want to investigate.

Once they're beneath her, she strikes, jumping down from her vantage point and landing on them full-force. Once they're on the ground, whoever she's caught will feel the sharp end of a corkscrew jabbed warning at a sensitive point of their neck. Not enough to draw blood, but certainly enough to make a point.]

Okay, whoever you are, tell me what the hell is going on with everyone. And don't try anything.

[She doesn't really intend to use the corkscrew unless necessary, but her captive doesn't need to know that.]

B - Later in the evening

[Once she's gotten something more of a complete picture, Phi keeps on the move, keeping an eye out for anyone else with glowing eyes who might need help. Those with Prophet eyes, on the other hand... she tends to keep a much wider berth. She's not particularly large or strong, so she tries to outwit any pursuants, distracting them with other sounds or moving over terrain that won't make as much noise, or stepping in footprints that've already been made.

Sometimes she'll even repeat her ambush tactic, but this time, rather than talking she'll try to knock whoever she catches out with some large bit of wood or rubble she's found. She sticks to the residential areas most of the time, though near the end of the night she moves downtown as well, both to see the terrain and to hopefully move into a hopefully less well-traversed area.]

[When Quark falls forward into the snow, he screams. It's more of an angry, disgusted scream than one of fear. His weapon and his helmet are fly from his body at the force, landing in front of him, and even though he's being pinned, he flails, kicking his arms and legs to try and dislodge his captor.

The threat of corkscrew calms him down a little, but he's still clearly tense.]

Phi? Let me go! Get off me!

( ooc: Zack's got prophet eyes (but people might be fooled by his dumb SOLDIER glowstick eyes!) and is going to be mainly around the residential zones and possibly in the split tunnels. He will eventually be given the run around by Ed and end up stuck in a closet, but in the meantime, he will be attempting to kill people. I have no intention of him actually killing people or being killed, but injuring on either side's fine with me. /o/ If you have anything specific in mind, feel free to poke me via PM, plurk (graylights), or Discord! )

[ It had started out subtly enough. Just an odd whisper in the back of his mind. Just a little touch of something off. Something odd. He hadn't thought much of it at first. Just looked to the others that night with a curious gaze. A curious feeling.

But the feeling had never stopped. No, it had just grown. And with it, had grown the whispers no longer so discreet. Kill, kill, kill they had chanted. And it felt like such a good idea- but it wasn't. No, it wasn't, he'd argued in his head. Never. Not in cold blood. Not without reason.

But the chant continues and that's when he forces open the door. That's when he disappears into the night. Away from the people that matter the most to him because if something should happen, if it decides to take a hold of him, he's not sure if he'll be able to stop it. That's his argument and he tries to hold it in his heart. Tries to remember as he finds himself tearing through the town at a sprint away, away, away. And as he runs the voices get louder and louder and louder. And this time, they aren't scattered but one. But he keeps on running, keeps his pace as well as he can.

Until he feels like he's run a hundred miles and he's standing in the middle of no where, breathing hard with a hand running through messy black spikes. His mind's a jumbled mess now, the voices in his head all but screaming now.

What was he... doing?

'Kill! Kill! Kill!

Kill the sinners! Kill them all! All the sinners!'

He removes his hand slowly, a scowl on his face as he eyes his surroundings with faintly glowing eyes. ]

That's right. Heh... I really got my work cut out for me this time.

A. Closed to Charlie

[Quark asked for this. Literally. When he realized he wasn't going to be able to control himself, that he was going to attack House no matter what he tried, he begged House to restrain him. He doesn't want this: doesn't want to hurt anyone. He just can't help it. Can't help these thoughts: that he needs to hurt the blasphemers. The sinners. They need to pay, pay, pay. But the longer he sits there, restrained, the more he forgets that he wanted it. The more restless he becomes. He starts to struggle, and scream, tugging against his cuffs until his arms are trembling.]

Help! Please, anyone, help me!

B. OTA

[Like all the others with the prophet eyes, Quark is out for blood. After Charlie frees him from his handcuffs, he eventually winds up on his own again, his weapon brandishes. He knows he's small, but he's ready to resort to anything to get that kill in. If someone notices him approaching, he'll force a grimace of a smile onto his face and hide the weapon behind his back. He's just a kid, right? Not a threat at all.]

It's dangerous to be alone out here today.

[It sounds more like a threat than a warning or statement.]

Will you stay with me? I'm defenseless.

[Charlie hears Quark's voice and is not sure if it's real or just in his head. Somewhere, distantly, he's aware that he should not trust himself right now. Something is wrong. But Quark is a friend. Quark is good. Quark does not need to be punished.

So Charlie goes to find his friend. He enters the building with his knife in one hand and his hammer in the other. Just in case.]

(OOC: These prompts are OTA. Prophet-eyed Ecks will be roaming all over the map tonight, ending when Stein kills her in retaliation. I'm open to scuffles with or without her killing someone in the process.)

[She begins the night alone, as many do. For the first time in days, though, she feels clear-headed as she steps out into the still air of the night. Gone is the ever present cold. Gone is the confusion about what she is to do. Some small part of her still hesitates at the thought of killing particular sinners, but for the start that is solved by simply seeking others. She has all night, after all. She winds her way across landscapes both familiar and not, sometimes running at full speed to get to some new destination, sometimes slowing to creep through the rubble unseen, stalking prey real or imaginary. There will not be any warning to those for whom she comes. She knows well the value of surprise.]


B - CW CORPSE MUTILATION / SKIN LOSS
[A figure crouches over a sprawled shape on the ground or floor, one hand braced on its head, the other arm steadily sawing away at the flesh with scissors too small and dulled for the job. Whether she made or found this kill, old training has kicked in. This is right. This is what is done. This is her work. Blood pools as she silently labors, the only sounds her soft breathing and the small, wet sounds of the blades.]

Clint heard she was out and about, and he knows she's already a killer. She's a good choice for a partner in this, and he's already found that doing this on his own could have consequences. He's a little injured after Lutha, but it's fine. He feels great. Maybe a little sick, under it all, but he ignores that.

He leans against the wall when he finds Ecks, folding his arms. The body doesn't seem to bother him. He's got literal blood on his hands, clothes - everywhere, in splatters and specks, so. Of course he's not bothered. ]

Working, huh? [ He asks, his Prophet eyes clear in the dark. ] Wanna team up, Miss Ecks?
