Did you line the pit with sharp rocks?

Caught anyone yet? I didn't hear anything when I walked in, but that doesn't mean there's no one there.
no subject
[And he'd like to keep just avoiding people, thanks.]
Taking it you ran into some already?
no subject
She knows the voices. She knows whom she has found. Some part of her is sorry that Doctor House has forced her to do this, but not sorry enough that she will fail to carry out her duty.
Her voice is very soft as she turns to look over her shoulder for the friend she can barely make out in the dark.]
Two of them in here.
no subject
He's given in fully to all of this, to the urge, and so when he hears House's voice, he grins a little. ]
Let's go get 'em, then. You ready?
[ Because whether she is or not, he's going to move so he's clearly visible from the doorway, holding that sharpened broomstick and leaning on it slightly. ]
Hey, kids. [ Clint's eyes are very clearly sketched, a sign of the Prophet, off-putting in the dark. ] How's it going?
no subject
Well enough. Have you come to join the party?
no subject
Keep moving, Birdbrain. You can find easier prey somewhere else.
[House is waiting for one of them to step forward and hit that trip line he's set up. With two of them, this is more trouble, but if they can even get one of them out of commission down that hole...
God, he hopes it's Barton. He doesn't want to hurt either of them, but if House had to make a choice, he'd pick the Avenger over the girl.]

[Ecks hasn't got up from where she's crouched in the doorway, a nagging remembrance from her old training making her slow to act in the face of something that seems easier than she knows it will be. Her face is turned downward and her hand goes out to tentatively reach for something barely seen, carefully, gently feeling in the air --]
There is a trip wire here.
[Does it connect to a trap? Is it, itself, the trap? Are there more? She grips her shovel and stands to carefully step over the line, the first footsteps ginger like she expects to set something off.]
no subject
[ Clint does pause, though, when Ecks tells him to. He trusts her judgement. When she grabs at the line, he sort of just grins a little. ]
Nice. Good catch, Ecks. [ He carefully steps over the wire, and lets her go first, lets her figure out if something else is in the way. Conversationally: ] Anyway. I'm not after you, House, as much as I am him. [ Clint points at Stein with his broomstick. ] Eye for an eye, actually.
no subject
Well then, come and get it. I'll rip you to pieces! [It's a shout, edged in ragged laughter. Stein is not at all sane right now, and he's itching to shred someone.]
no subject
Aw, that's sweet, Barton. How about you both step aside and let me out, then. You can take on the Screwball here. He sounds amped for it.
no subject
[She's not happy about the prospect of killing him. Why did he do this? Why could he not use his mind to help instead of trying to ruin everything? She barely looks at him while she speaks, attention focused instead on the giant she knows represents a more immediate threat.]
Clint, divide Doctor Stein's attention.
[That's all the strategizing that will come from her before she steels herself and comes toward the doctors. Focus on disabling Doctor Stein but do not ignore Doctor House and his hammer entirely, get the giant down and worry about hunting down Doctor House if he should run away --
And her foot comes down on the edge of the pit, her heel barely catching as she lets out a cry -- almost just a grunt -- of dismay as she feels her weight come down on empty air.]

Stein steps forward, deliberately putting himself between House and the other two.]
I'm still waiting. Don't make me come over there and get you.
no subject
Well, he'd rather one of them fall and the other catch them so that they can focus on that. It will make House's get-away easier. Maybe Stein's if he chooses to leave.]
no subject
Betrayer.
[Her shovel comes up to parry the attack and is jarred from her hand, clattering away into the hole as House's mallet strikes a now glancing blow on her torso. She lunges for him, forgetting her own strategy -- she has never fought two at once before, never seriously fought anyone who fought back. She aims to strike him in the throat; he has lost her her weapon, but she means to take his.]
no subject
Ecks, don't let him make you angry -- [ Clint calls to her, even as he's focusing his attack at Stein. ]
no subject
A jab is easy enough to counter, can be countered in a myriad of ways. Right now, he chooses to grab the broom and pull forward in a bid to unbalance his smaller opponent.]
no subject
The mallet clatters onto the ground between them as the force of Ecks' attack pushes him back.]
You're the one who's trying to freaking murder me!
no subject
Unfortunately for House, he's just given up his grip on the thing she's actually after.]
Sinner! Taker! Destroyer!
[Ecks all but drops to the floor, grasping for the mallet, knowing she has to be fast, so fast to pick it up before he can regain his balance and stop her. If she can she'll strike at his legs and sweep him off his feet with his own weapon to give herself an opening to extricate herself from this fight and rejoin Clint against Doctor Stein.
Doctor House will not get very far while they finish off Doctor Stein.]
