[When he opens his eyes, there's just one thing on his mind: he feels good. It doesn't even occur to him that he feels too good, only that the lack of chill soaking through the suit is wonderful, the open doors are wonderful. Everything is wonderful, especially the strange urge to--kill the prophet.
For a minute or two, he mills about the post office as if he'll somehow find the Joker hiding. Come out, come out. But the Joker is long gone, leaving Bruce frustrated. He thinks he should be worried the Joker has left his custody, but in the back of his mind, it's more than just that. The Joker has escaped his retribution. (He shouldn't think this way. He shouldn't. He can't.
No good will come of it.)
The halted snowy outside greets him when he leaves, and perhaps he'll be concerned later when he thinks back on it. Find the
prophetJoker. He can make this right.]earlier that morning
Is he losing his mind all over again or are the snowflakes frozen in time? He feels more like he's looking at a photograph than anything else.]
Whoo boy, Bats, the servers got all frozen up again. Are you seeing this?

The initial blindness had receded earlier, but with the cowl, he can't see that his eyes have twisted into something familiar. It's not a terrible concern when his head aches just at the back, and the pain reasons with him that it would be better to get rid of Joker for transgressions he can't place.] Has this ever happened before?
no subject
[He folds his arms over his chest and squints, trying to ignore the creeping feeling of anxiety that's inching its way up his spine.]
I think these little glitches in the system show us the truth about this place but nobody ever asks me for my opinion.

For the town, for the prophet. He's not even religious. Maybe this isn't anything spiritual.] The one I've been missing for a long time.
[He half turns to face the Joker.] It's time to end this, Joker. For good.
no subject
You can end our game whenever you want, darling. It's always been up to you...

When you're gone, Norfinbury can go back to the way it should be. [There's no hesitation in his advance forward. He's intent. Convinced.] It's over. Don't move.
[The seriousness is in the way his shoulders straighten, in the way he raises his fists. He doesn't need to have any weapons to break the Joker.] I'll make it quick.
no subject
[Joker spreads his arms invitingly, then something the Bat said clicks.]
Norfinbury!? What does Norfinbury have to do with us!?
No!
This dismal burg is the one making you batty, Bats!
[He scrambles backwards.]
THAT'S NOT FAIR!
no subject
I'm giving you what you want. [His advancing doesn't stop, but it's not quick. He's taking his time.] Me killing you. That's what you've always been after, isn't it?
no subject
I wanted to be the one that finally made you snap. I just wanted you to see the joke and laugh, man!
[He draws back a step.]
This is only funny if I am the reason you snapped! That's the game! That's the point! The whole enchilada!
You can't let this big computerized heck-hole ruin our fun. C'mon, Batsy, fight it!
tmw bruce and joker take turns helping each other in a game
Then his advancing starts again.] Come quietly, and this will be as painless as possible.
The joke's over.
Magical
[Joker dives to one side to give himself space. The sudden movement sends a wave of nausea through him and he hacks blood up on the floor.
If the Bat doesn't kill him, this damnable, unshakable illness will.
It's not funny.]
IT CAN'T END THIS WAY, I WON'T LET IT!
[He starts crawling on all fours, groping urgently through the shadows. His weapons are here, with the Bat's things, they have to be.]
no subject
He continues his pursuit of the Joker without letting up, though he still goes at a slow, easy pace. Intimidation. Towering over the man scrambling to get away.]
Removing you with the others means those of us left can find a way to leave.
no subject
More loonies will just come ya big galoot. Our hostess has a population quota to meet, remember?
[He waits for Batman to come into striking distance.]
no subject
Before so many people were hurt.
sorry about the lateness!
It doesn't work for me.
Comedy's in the TIMING
[He swings the fireplace poker into the side of Batman's knee with all the panicked strength his arms can muster, intent on toppling the larger man over.]
no subject
He hears someone moving nearby and turns his head, eyes flashing green briefly like an animal's in the light.]
get out of here murderson
For a moment or two, Bruce just watches. It's almost like stalking. He assesses Peter's height, weight, whatever he can tell, and then he steps toward the boy. Even with the literally frozen snow, his boots crunch in what's on the ground; he doesn't make any effort to conceal the noise.] Don't move.
Where are you going?
make me
Maybe I'm gonna find the shadows'n cut out their eyes so they can't look through you.
no subject
[For the moment, Bruce makes no move to advance, but he also makes no move to retreat either. His face doesn't turn away from Peter even slightly.] I can't let you continue being here.
no subject
[Peter stares right into Batman's cowl, locking eyes with the weird symbols like he did with the shadow beings that had them before. Whatever is behind that mark seems to be aggressive. It keeps reaching out toward him. The last time he attacked, those shadows retreated, but this time... Batman doesn't look like he'll retreat. Peter holds his ground.]
Well, that's jus' too bad, 'cause I'm here.

no subject
[And just for good measure, he spits.]
You don't get t'talk to me about warnings when you just come to skin rabbits like the rest o' the dogs. I thought you mighta been one o' the smarter ones. Guess you showed me.
no subject
Fighting will just make it harder on yourself.
no subject
Well, makin' it easy just ain't fun. Gotta make you work for it, puppy.
