[Shit. So much for that plan.

Stein steps forward, deliberately putting himself between House and the other two.]

I'm still waiting. Don't make me come over there and get you.

[House isn't waiting. In fact, he'll take advantage of the distraction to lunge forward and sweeps his croquet mallet in a horizontal arc meant to catch one of them in the side and knock them off balance and into the hole. He really wants it to be...

Well, he'd rather one of them fall and the other catch them so that they can focus on that. It will make House's get-away easier. Maybe Stein's if he chooses to leave.]

[Ecks scrambles back with Clint's help, but there's no time to breathe a sigh of relief or to choose a better position from which to attack. Doctor Stein is posturing, but Doctor House --]

Betrayer.

[Her shovel comes up to parry the attack and is jarred from her hand, clattering away into the hole as House's mallet strikes a now glancing blow on her torso. She lunges for him, forgetting her own strategy -- she has never fought two at once before, never seriously fought anyone who fought back. She aims to strike him in the throat; he has lost her her weapon, but she means to take his.]

[ Clint watches the mallet slam into the shovel and immediately hisses, because the shovel was going to be the upper hand here, but - it's fine, he's still got his broomstick. Ecks takes care of House just fine, and Clint squares up against Stein, making sure he doesn't have his back to the hole as he moves in, down and then up, aiming to jab the sharpened end of the broomstick into Stein. ]

Ecks, don't let him make you angry -- [ Clint calls to her, even as he's focusing his attack at Stein. ]

[As distracted and exhausted as Stein is, he's also battle-trained and working with a lifetime of experience. He's been killing since before his age hit double digits, and he's not worried about this fight.

A jab is easy enough to counter, can be countered in a myriad of ways. Right now, he chooses to grab the broom and pull forward in a bid to unbalance his smaller opponent.]

[House is not a hand-to-hand fighter. He's not a fighter, in general, and he's weak from slow starvation. There are two things he has on his side, though, a longer reach, and fear-fueled reflexes. The doctor drops his mallet so that he can raise both hands in a stop motion to halt Ecks' lunge.

The mallet clatters onto the ground between them as the force of Ecks' attack pushes him back.]

You're the one who's trying to freaking murder me!

[ecks]

[Fortunately for House, Ecks isn't much of a hand-to-hand fighter, either. Without a weapon she is clumsy; she delivers an awkward (if forceful) shove rather than the precise strike it would take to do real damage.

Unfortunately for House, he's just given up his grip on the thing she's actually after.]

Sinner! Taker! Destroyer!

[Ecks all but drops to the floor, grasping for the mallet, knowing she has to be fast, so fast to pick it up before he can regain his balance and stop her. If she can she'll strike at his legs and sweep him off his feet with his own weapon to give herself an opening to extricate herself from this fight and rejoin Clint against Doctor Stein.

Doctor House will not get very far while they finish off Doctor Stein.]
