[She nods. She's still fidgeting slightly, shifting her weight from foot to foot.]

Yes. And I keep having these... These awful thoughts, like...

[They're not something she can voice aloud, so she just shakes her head.]

[Instead of being horrified when Andersen voices her thoughts for her, she finds herself agreeing, fighting the urge to nod along with him. It's only when she realizes this that her stomach churns.]

Can we stick together? Please? The friends I'm usually with are... I don't trust myself around them.

I don't think they'll follow me. They didn't want to leave the hotel because they said it was safer.

[Which is probably true. There's lots of places to hide.]

Maybe we should... try to find somewhere away from everyone else?

[Tifa frowns as she considers that.]

Like what? I don't have anything we could tie ourselves up with, if that's what you mean.

[She hasn't really been considering the fact that someone is actively doing this to them, although she knew it, of course. The reminder seems to make her more upset, if that's possible.]

Why do you think they're doing this to us? What do they get out of it?

[Sorry, Andersen. She sighs huffily and plants her hands on her hips.]

[Tifa just deflates. She's already been feeling helpless and useless for the past few months, and this doesn't help.]

I just... I wish I knew... I wish I knew what they were testing, or what I could do.

I know.

[She sounds properly chastised. Sometimes everything she does feels useless, but he's right. It isn't an excuse to give up.]

I just wish I knew who we're supposed to be biting.

[powersouls]

[Maybe he's better at it than he thinks, because Tifa laughs a little at that.]

You don't have to buy me anything. I'll punch him in the face for free.
