[Bucky's ready for this.

He sees the small shift just before the spring and he moves accordingly, twisting in order to try and grab Clint around the throat with his forearm and then lock it in place.

With only one arm, he'll not be able to hold the other man for long if he manages to catch him in the first place, but hopefully long enough to knock him out.]

Bad move, Barton.

[It's a low growl, the softer side of him melting into something reminiscent of the Soldier in a moment.]

[ Clint's not threatened, really - Bucky has one arm. Winter Soldier or not, Clint thinks he can fight better because he's got two. He launches himself, and Bucky grabs him by the throat, but he's not going to just let that happen. He chokes, and then aims for the joint of Bucky's elbow, slamming it with his own to try and get his arm to buckle.

And if he can do that, he's going to continue his movement, try to knock Bucky down and jab that letter opener right in his face. It's rushed, though - he's full of bloodlust and isn't aiming correctly, so the letter opener can easily be taken from him. ]

[Bucky's arm buckles and he makes the fatal mistake of instinctively trying to block with his other arm... the arm that isn't there any longer. His eyes widen in surprise as the letter opener plunges into his face, though it thankfully just goes through one of his cheeks to flood his mouth with blood.

It's like a switch flips inside him and all his training takes over. Ignore the pain, take out the target, conserve the Soldier's life. He twists his head to wrest the letter opener from Clint, tearing his face more in the process with a grunt of pain, and pulls his aching arm up to pull it out and flip it around in one smooth motion to try and stab Clint right in the throat.]

[ Clint makes a victorious noise when the letter opener goes through - but he's not expecting the quick change in movement. Clint is injured and slow to react, and Bucky's far more brutal than Clint is expecting. Maybe he should've been expecting it.

Either way, the letter opener swings up, and hits him right in the throat, makes him gurgle and fall back, off Bucky. Both hands come up to try and hold at it, try and uselessly scrabble at the letter opener. Get it - get it out, right, that's what he should do, he...

He chokes, blood leaking from the corner of his lips, and - well. Fights. He fights for as long as he can to stay awake, to stay alive, but it's not very long regardless. It's a short, painful death, and his eyes go flat after a couple of seconds. ]
