A!
The threat of corkscrew calms him down a little, but he's still clearly tense.]
Phi? Let me go! Get off me!
no subject
Charles had warned her about this, and sure enough, the tension in his voice is uncomfortably familiar. She removes the corkscrew from his neck, but doesn't move to let him up. Not yet.]
Quark. Tell me what's going on. Tell me why you're attacking people.
no subject
[The statement comes out more aggressive each time, and it truly sounds like he's straining himself the more and more he believes it. He clenches and flexes his fists as he stays pinned beneath her.]
Non-believers don't deserve to live!
no subject
The non-believers of what? What did they do? You're talking about killing someone.
[That's not something that can be taken back so easily.]
no subject
[Long live the Prophet. Long live the Prophet. Long live the Prophet. Long live the Prophet. Long live the Prophet. Long live the Prophet. Long live the Prophet. Long live the Prophet. Long live the Prophet. Long live the Prophet.]
Don't tell me you're one of them?
no subject
[If this really is anything like the Radical-6, she knows there's honestly not much point in trying to reason with him. The old Latin proverb comes to her automatically but hey, maybe wondering what it meant could distract him for a little bit.]
I'm just trying to figure out what's going on, Quark. That's all I've ever been trying to do.
no subject
[She's the enemy, isn't she? She's one of them, a blasphemer, she can't be trusted. Even now, Phi's spewing nonsense. She's questioning the Prophet. She's questioning all that's good. Quark starts screaming, no longer remaining passive. He kicks and fights and wants to be set free.]
Liar! Liar! You're not Phi--you've been infected--sin has corrupted your insides!
[He wants to c̴̸̢͙̥͓ͨu̵̯̼̱͖͈̠̦͕̗̓̑ͤ̈̕t̄̇̚͠͏̠̩̥͎̜̙̰̮ ̴̳͑̽́͗ͬ̈̋͐t͙̩̥̳ͧ̂̒̓h͓̤̣̍e̟̺̣̥̹̮̯̮ͤ̀́̚m̴̡̘̞̲̞̎̒ͬ ͣ̊ͧ͌ͩ̿͏͉͚̹̜̤͉͢o͑͗̄ͩ̓͏̴̩̭̺̬͇͔ụ͕͈ͮͬͩ̕ͅt̨̞̺̱͉͈̿͗͗͗̔ͅ]
no subject
He'll feel her pushing down on him hard one last time, and then her grip is gone, as she uses the momentum to roll off him and a few feet away, landing face-down and wasting no time in getting her feet back under her.]
I don't want to hurt you, Quark.
[But she refuses to die here. Just like she told him.]
no subject
But you're hurting this whole town.
[His voice takes on a sinister hiss.]
So I want to hurt you.
no subject
[Maybe not the wisest situation to go poking for information, but Phi's reasonably certain she can outrun Quark if it comes down to that. And this... whatever it is, is reflecting on the town somehow. Either its past, or whatever's in charge.... and if they can get any clues to that, all the better.
She's still ready to run though.]
no subject
[With a yell, he charges for Phi. It won't be too hard to escape him, but that doesn't make him much less determined.]
Confess!
no subject
[She doesn't waste time fully turning around but bolts sideways, hopefully out of reach of his strike. Once she's clear - unscathed or not, she starts running properly. And as much as she wants to, she can't waste any more breath on talking.]
no subject
[Quark lurches as he tries to stop his momentum and turn, slipping in the snow. He catches himself, but it gives Phi a definite lead. Cursing under his breath, Quark goes to give chase.]
Phi! Stop running from me! Come back!
no subject
But she'd meant what she'd said to him - she had no intention of dying here.
She skids around a corner of a building. She can't count on her size to be and advantage here, so she'll have to rely on outrunning and confusing him.]
no subject
Please come back, Phi! I'm sorry, really! I just want to help.
