[He was willing to try and talk this out. To try and figure out why House was against the town, why he's ruining everything, but then he runs and it's an admission of guilt as far as Al can tell.

He's a fast mover despite his size, and he deploys all the skill that Izumi drilled into him right now. House is an enemy in this moment.

Al darts forwards to try and grab hold of House by the collar of his shirt if possible.]

Wait! I said I wanted to talk to you, you owe me an explanation and I'm not letting you go without one.

[As good as House is at scurrying, he's underfed, sleep-deprived, terrified beyond what he really thought possible in his life, and has no training. Al collars him with relative ease and House is jerked to a halt.]

Hrk! Let-let me go, Elric! You drew eyes. I erased them. That's the only goddamn explanation there is.

No, I want to know why you're trying to destroy the town.

[He isn't going to release that collar; on the contrary, he goes to lift House up for it to put them eye to eye.]

You have to die for you did, I'm-- I'm sorry it's come to this.

I'm not trying to destroy it. [Okay. Okay. Strategies. What strategies can he use against a giant freaking suit of armor? He has his scalpel, he knows he can make Al bleed, but House remembers the fight with the Joker. The Joker is a hell of a lot more resilient than him.]

We're trying to get out of this craphole. This isn't you, Elric. You don't kill people. It's the Prophet. They're inside your head.

[House's heart is pounding out of control, he knows he's going to die, but like with Royce, he's not going down without a fight. The doctor reaches into his coat pocket as he speaks to distract Al. And then counts to 3, mentally.

In a sudden movement, he lashes at the prophet eye symbol on Al's helmet with the sharp little blade clutched in his fist.]

[Al's fingers clutch tightly onto House's collar, but he doesn't make any further move to hurt the man he's got hold of. He's struggling, he knows that House is right. If there's one thing that he and Ed have always promised, it's that they'll never kill.

But he already has tonight.

So there must be good reason, he would never do it otherwise, would he? He's so lost in the conflict that he doesn't manage to block the scalpel to his eye, the blade cuts deep and blood spills down his helmet.]

You tricked me!

[He had almost been questioning his desire to kill! At least the attack has reaffirmed that it's the right thing to do. He goes to lift House even higher by his collar so that he can wrap his other hand around his neck tightly.]

I won't let you trick me again, you won't be able to lie any more if I crush your windpipe.

[Is it poetic justice that Al is going to murder him like this when he'd saved him from Rhys doing the same thing? The Admin has a sick sense of humor, regardless. House drops the scalpel and tries to fend off the hand to no avail.]

Elric... Al! Stop, Al!

[He grasps the fingers around his neck and tries to pry them off. Meanwhile, the doctor starts trying to kick. It can be a distraction, at least.]

Now it's Al?

[He tightens his grip, huge hands pretty strong. The kicks make the sound of hollow clanging metal ring out and echo in the tunnel, sound distorting as it comes back to them.]

What happened to Lelly? Finally seeing there's a reason give other people respect, or are you just a coward as well as a sinner?

[Well, the strangling is making it increasingly difficult to answer, bro.]

I don't- I don't respect what you're doing. Would... nngh! Would Ed?

[It digs right down into his soul, knowing that Ed's eyes were glowing like House's, and his fingers loosen just a bit.]

S...Shut up!

[House gasps just for the minor reprieve. Shouldn't have dropped that scalpel. He might have been able to blind Al completely. It won't save House, but it might save someone else.]

You don't... hah... believe in doing this. I know who you are, Al. Optimistic, annoying, you believe in people to a fault, kid. You don't think this is right. You know big brother doesn't-doesn't think it's right.

Brother-- Brother has been lied to by people like you, it's not his fault that he can't see this is the right thing to do.

[Ed's eyes, the glow of them, it'll haunt him for a long time. How could they be on opposing sides? It has to be because of people like House, corrupting his brother just like he's corrupting the town. It brings the anger back full force and Al tightens his grip once before he starts slamming House back into the wall.

Over and over.

And over.

And over... until there's nothing but a red-smeared wall and a headless body with bits of broken bone and brain matter left.]
