Right. I just want to be clear given that obituary. I don't know you people. I've never met any of you. Yes, I've seen some of the logs and I've read through your guides, so don't bother telling me to do that. I don't know what the hell you're playing at or how you managed to get audio and video footage of me like that, but I'm not indulging you.

[Mary's heart sinks when she sees this post. She knew enough about the revival process in Norfinbury that "revival prices" were harsh, but she'd been so preoccupied with waiting--nervously--for John's revival that she'd not considered the cost.

She doesn't want to be hung up on. More than anything, she doesn't want him to hang up on her, now that she's gotten the chance to talk with him again.]

[Mycroft switches to video, clearly John had amnesia, and figured perhaps a familiar face might trigger a memory.

He sounds actually relieved, but also...empty and tired, like he'd been through Too Much. It was the face of a man who's had his worst fear come to life recently. He can sympathize with needing this to be a dream. It still felt like one. A part of him clung stubbornly to it.

But despite all the horror and madness, he had not yet waken up. Dream was looking less and less likely.

There's makeshift bandages on his knuckles from an old handkerchief, stained with a small amount of day-old blood, and fairly fresh bruising along the side of his jaw and nose. He'd stayed in the building for too long and had apparently fought his way through the cast of Les Mis (AKA several doors), the bruise came from the hallucinations causing him to misjudge where he was and running headlong into a wall. Fortunately he regained his senses once he'd managed to get outside.]

Tell me what the exact last thing you remember is.

[Kunsel figures there's one of two things going on here. Either John's lost his memory, or they have another John here. Either way, it's been made clear that prodding his memory isn't going to do any good. Best just leave that to other people and focus on other things here. He'll either remember, or he won't.]

You've read the guides. That's good. Did you have any questions about them, or about something they didn't address?

May I inquire as to your area of medical expertise? It would be helpful to know what you're most skilled with so that we can be sure when it's best to approach you. There are a few other doctors here, so you needn't take full responsibility for offering medical advice.

John died. Why doesn't he recall that? He should-- No, his brain skitters away from that particular line of thinking, back to the important thing at hand, which is clearly that John doesn't remember him. He could pretend to meet him anew, but that wouldn't work. John is smart enough to have checked the tablets, he'll know that they're connected.]

It would be beneficial if you could remember as soon as possible, I doubt your psychosomatic limp is helping your progress through the snow and I'd rather you didn't die again so soon.

[He nearly doesn't reply to this, he's glad that John is back, but this is a memory loss unlike the one he dealt with. He doesn't blame the poor bastard for what he's going through, but it would be awkward if they spoke.

Still... this is his friend, he owes him the help he was given. He'll stick to the basics, no point going over the memory issues that everyone else has already touched on.]

Whatever happened between your last memory of home and your arrival here I think must have brought you some peace. You seem guarded, wary of attack from anywhere and anyone.

Whether or not you believe us about your memories, we are all prisoners here. Most of us would rather cooperate than fight.
