It's basically just snow and rubble. Depending on which way you want to go you have to go through this wrecked apartment building, too.

And there are things that chase us. These anomalies. Do they bother you if you're inside a building?

If you can keep them outside they can't get in, but you can run into them in buildings if you're looking around in new ones. I don't think I've ever heard of someone having one show up in a building they were already in, but not everyone talks about when they run into one of those things.

Can you leave things in the buildings here? I woke up with two packs, but I can't carry all of this if I'm expected to be able to run.

Not really. If you leave it out it'll be gone the next day. You might be able to put it in a cupboard or something but then anyone can take it if they find it.

How about the fire station? If you go directly east of where you are you'll hit it right away, and it's a pretty obvious building so you should be able to find it no problem.
