[Seeing other people introduce themselves, each in their own way, Kesara has concluded that this was expected of her as well. One must always obey local custom, after all. Thus she makes her appearance - still terribly excited about this video lark - a small girl all but drowning in her sheepskin coat and cap of muskrat fur. She looks serious, these being semi-formal circumstances, but perhaps not nearly as worried as an eleven years old girl should be about being lost and alone in a deadly frozen wasteland.]
Hello, good sirs, madams. I'm very glad to meet you all - is it proper to say meet? Of course it isn't really, but with these picture-telegraphs it's almost like.
[Despite the formalities she grins a little. She and this magic mirror are destined to be best of friends.]
My name is Kesara Freamon. I am the student of Dame Doctor Marie Ariel Stein - the famous Orientalist, you must have heard of her if you go in these circles. I was meant to be heading for Bukhara. At first I thought the Russians got me, but I don't think even they are so clever. [She wrinkles her nose, distressed at the thought that maybe they are.] So now I think perhaps this really is the future, which means there's really very much that I don't know and need to learn. Like how this computer works.
[This is a very exciting prospect. Her eyes glow with it.]
I'm a very diligent student, and I know how to do many useful things like sewing and cooking, so I promise that instructing me will be worthwhile. And of course I'll help with finding food and exploring the sites and everything we must do. But since I am already here I think this is an excellent opportunity and it would be lazy and irresponsible for me to pass it up. So, please, sirs, won't any of you teach me?
