[network] @ADMIN; Arrival
Welcome to Norfinbury. The time is E̛̬̞͖͖̫R҉͖̯̬R̼̻͉̰͎̳̙O̩͓͔̫͇͈̯R and the date is E̛̬̞͖͖̫R҉͖̯̬R̼̻͉̰͎̳̙O̩͓͔̫͇͈̯R. This network has been provided for your use. Please interact politely with everyone else on this network.

[It just seems like the smarter way to do it to him.]
[private]
You're not the only one. The full college experience tends to involve a lot of drunken debauchery.
[Claire takes her time to reply to his question; there are pros and cons to both sides of the argument, after all.]
They're not always separate anymore because it doesn't help anyone in the long run. Men and women should get used to working alongside each other, since we're not separate in the adult world. It helps with social intelligence, too.
[private]
[That's changing a bit, but his 1920s British world is still very much a "men with men, women with women" place in a lot of respects.]
It sounds as if in the future, there's not much difference between men and women at all.
[private]
[There's so much more. But at least, they have the freedom to live their lives as they want.]
It's still better than the 20's, though. Especially for someone like me.
[private]
[private]
[And isn't that a major difference.]
[private]
[Oh look, something he's literally never thought of before. Is it really only legal for white women? He's not sure, off the top of his head.]
Right, well. Another reason to talk to Kesara then, innit.
[private]
I imagine so. Is she from the US?
[private]
[private]
[It might make it harder for Kesara to relate to Claire, considering how different the places they come from are, but. She has to try.]
[private]
[He's teasing; he knows that they don't.]
[private]
I'm pretty sure if you could see it from my time, you wouldn't want to anyway.
[private]
And here I thought the future was wonderful.
[private]
[private]
[Pause.]
This global warming thing, though; never heard of that. I suspect Norfinbury missed the boat on that one.
[private]
[She looks down with a crooked smile.]
Who knows, maybe in the last hundred years they found a way to right wrongs, but they might also have made it worse...
[private]
[private]
Oh, how very British of you. If we were stuck in the heat, it probably would bring us all sorts of other problems. At least here there is very little chance to die of dehydration.
[Sure, drinking melted snow isn't the safest, but in a place like this, what is?]
[private]
[He might not be anything close to a doctor, but ex-trenchsoldiers know this shit.]
[private]
[The way he talks, it's not that hard to put two and two together. How would a mobster know about this kind of affliction? The timeframe explains it all.]
You said you come from the 20's? Did you fight in the Great War?
[private]
[He gives her a nod.]
Over in France, yeah. People tell me this place is like war, and I laugh at them.
[Norfinbury is far worse, to him.]
[private]
[Tilting her head, she wishes, not for the first time their conversation started, that he'd had his camera on. To satisfy her curiosity.]
You laugh at them because it's not comparable?
[private] WHOOPS and that was me forgetting that he *didn't* have it on lmfao
We had purpose in the war. And then, we had an end to it all.
