[ Since the figure in the cell isn't someone Angel recognises immediately, it takes her a moment to notice the shuffling. It feels invasive to watch someone you don't know in such a horrible situation, right? Especially when they're obviously distressed already.

But when the shuffling is so obviously in response to her specifically, it's noticable enough for her to take a second look. A very confused look. ]

Hello...? Are you okay?

*He stops once he's managed to get as close to her cell as he can within his own and peers out at her through his hands.

He shakes his head. None of this is okay.*

[phaseshifter]

You can't talk?

[ She leans closer to the barrier, trying to peer at what she can see of his face. Poor thing. Is the muteness temporary? Due to the little freakout he was having before? Or is it normal for him, like-- ]

Oh, sh-shoot - Brian?

[ She stops trying to get a look at his face immediately, just in case, and instead fixes her gaze on the wall. ]

Uh, one tap for yes, two taps for no.

*He nods to both questions then taps his foot once.

It was nice that she stopped trying to look at him. Maybe Beckett wasn't so wrong about her after all.*

[ Okay, that makes a horrid amount of sense. Of course the whole clothing situation would freak Brian out. Moreso than it's freaking her out, even - at least any violation of privacy is over for her, right?

God it feels weird to even think of Brian having a face at all what the eff. ]

Sorry, dude. At least Beckett isn't here. If anyone can think of ways to get us out of here before anything terrible happens, it'll be him. Right?

*Beckett wasn't here? That was good. If he trusted anyone to get them out of here it was Beckett. Or Zell. Was Zell here? Who all was here? Hopefully not too many people.

He taps out Zell's name in morse code. Because everyone knows morse, right? Of course they do.*

[ Angel recognises morse code, but doesn't know it. Aside from SOS, anyway, and none of those letters feature in Brian's tapathon. Rats. ]

I don't understand. Um - try binary? Zeroes and ones are kinda like dots and dashes...

[ She's pretty sure she's seen him use binary. Probably. Maybe. ]

*Binary was his next guess of what to use, since she's into computer stuff.

He taps out Zell's name in binary, short for 0s long for 1s.*

Oh, Zell!

[ Yeah, she gets it instantly. Mission Binary is an official success. ]

I think... um. He didn't have lines, did he? So I don't think he's here. Plus I haven't heard him, and you know he's not exactly quiet.

[ Bless him. ]

*Hm, that was true. If Zell was here they'd know. But that meant he didn't have anyone he could trust here...but that was how it used to be. He's not sure if the difference is good or bad. He taps out something else.*

Who?

*They weren't alone. Just how many other people were here?*

"Who" as in who is here? Um, Rhys. Both of them, I expect, though I haven't heard witchy Rhys. He has lines, though. Same with Enoch and Steph - lines, but I haven't heard them yet. Erm... Alfie and Royce. Junpei, Peter. Watson. Nathan.

[ It's hard to make out some of the voices amongst the babble, and she isn't sure who Panicky Singing Guy or Foreign Yelling Dude are without seeing faces. Booo. ]

Are you hoping for anyone in particular? I can try yelling for them on your behalf, if you like. Since... you're not the yelling type.

[ TEASING. EGADS. She puases for a moment, and then: ]

If this is freaking you out too badly, you could try hiding in the bathroom for a while? I can tell you if you miss anything. Or there's a breathing thing you can do - slowly in through your nose, and out through your mouth.

*He doesn't get teasing, but at least for now he's still close enough to panic he doesn't quite catch everything she says.*

Mmhmm. Like this.

[ She offers an exaggerated demonstration, breathing loudly and deeply. She only looks a little bit silly. ]

It helps. When things feel overwhelming, or when you're so angry you want to strangle people. Try it sometime!

*He tries, at least, but when he takes s deep breath he breaks out into a small coughing fit.*

*Well, it was worth a try.*

[ The cough sounds pretty worrying, small or not. Man, that's some severe MN flu. Totally nothing to do with spooky tree men. Ouch.

She snortlaughs a little bit at maybe not, though. Just a tiny bit, because she isn't sure if Brian meant that to be funny or if he even knows what humour is. ]

Well, shoot. There goes my expertise.

You can learn to be calm! I have. Though it... did take a few years. Hopefully we won't be here that long, but if we are I'll tell you all my zen secrets. Promise.

It's a... ninja thing. How they keep calm in battle and so on. Haiku is involved - a kind of, um, poetry?

...Ninjas are... people with swords. Who sneak around and are kinda really cool. Oh - they cover their faces, too! Neat, huh?

Iunno. I think you also have to do lots of sneaking around places and jumping out and murdering people? I'm... not entirely clear on the job description.

[ She's pretty sure the haiku are optional, at least. Like 90% certain. ]
