[ The most important change since Angel was last at the bunker is the presence of beds. As far as she's concerned, anyway. Bunk beds, even! They're kind of cute, even if they're not very comfortable. Because, like. They're beds, but some are. Raised off the floor?

Look, they're just neat. And she's very tired. So tired that it's very possible for someone to walk in on her snoozing away with her face smushed against her tablet even though it's the middle of the day. It's very undignified, especially when she wakes with a start and almost falls off the bed entirely. ]

[ Newsflash: bunkers suck. Angel isn't quite as rattled as the first time she was here - the large number of people helps a lot - but she's still not finding the experience very pleasant. A distraction is in order. Something even more distracting than Bester. ]

Thanks for letting me do this! It helps a lot when I have something to do, you know?

[ That's right, fuckers. She gets to FUSS WITH SQUALO'S HAIR. Don't hate her because you ain't her. She's sitting behind him on a hastily-constructed pillow nest on the floor of the guard station, with her comb and soft-bristle brush beside her and the hugest smile in town slapped on her face. This. Is going to be. The best. ]

Hey, um. Can you come with me for a minute?

[ She's being a little quieter than usual, tugging lightly on Rhys' sleeve. Which is a pretty good sign that this is Important, and not a "hey let's make another blanket fort" situation. ]

It won't take long. Uh, probably.

[ He's up on his feet pretty damn sharpish, ball of energy aching to be spent somewhere. Something. He's so cooped up and it's getting harder and harder to deal with. ]

[Enoch draws her attention to his location in the dark by producing the Fruit of Wisdom from his cloak pocket. No one else with a glowy blue orb/apple thing. He'd wanted to try to sleep too - who cares what time it is when it's always dark? But sleep is a thornier concept with his supply of nightmare-curbing medicine having run out.]

Day 388

[ Gabriel just sort of freezes for a moment, then lets out a breath of laughter. ]

Yeah, sure. Sometimes that's all there is to do around here.

[ Squalo glances over his shoulder to give her the most carefully constructed I am going to regret this look, except he's not moving. Look, pillow nests are comfortable, and she's got a comb and a soft-bristle brush. He deserves this. ]

No cutting. [ He reminds, settling in more comfortably and leaning back a little bit. What a long way he's gone from not being able to trust his back or his hair to anyone (but occasionally John). Apparently shit happens when someone helps you eat and pee no-handed for a week. ] And don't get used to it.

[ I-IT'S NOT LIKE HE LIKES YOU OR ANYTHING, BAKA!! ]

392 waggles eyebrows

[ Look, Squalo's not judging, despite what his grumpy expression might suggest. He might even mimic wiping it off with his thumb (or do it, if there's actually any drool to speak of and he's not just being an ass). He's looking somewhat high-strung, though, and the cause is probably obvious enough. ]

Room 2, any day EXCEPT 387 and 391

Awake

[Mostly useless for his lack of familiarity with technology, Enoch spends most of his time in the bunker poking ineffectively at his tablet looking for some way to unlock the mystery folder until its battery runs out or staying in the room with the beds stewing in this feeling of being useless. To stave off cabin fever he'll move to one of the front rooms but most of the time? He's here, waiting for someone to need help. It's one of those days where just sitting here, in the right place but lacking every skill called for, that he asks someone who probably knows what they're doing:]

I don't suppose you need another pair of hands for anything?


Asleep...?

[He's also having terrible nightmares again. And not sleeping in a warmth-preserving pile means when he has nightmares, he's mobile. As if the crying in his sleep he picked up in his time here wasn't enough. There's a reason his bed in Heaven was wide enough to fit three of him. Thankfully for him, he pushes his backpack off the bunk before he can roll off, himself.

That means, whatever was going on, a backpack suddenly hits the floor with a thunk and Enoch wakes with a startled gasp and a panicked stutter, fumbling around for anything to tell him where he is.

When he remembers he's in the bunker, not the tower or some void or somewhere otherwise more awful than the rest of Norfinbury, when cult eyes don't blink at him from the darkness, he sighs and climbs out of bed to find his bag.]

I'm-...I'm sorry if I disturbed anyone.

Day 389, awake

[ Gabriel runs a hand back through his hair, ostensibly to get any mold spores off himself while in this safe room. It's not bad. ]

I wish. I sort of came around to ask the same thing. It's- the tech's a little beyond me, unfortunately.

Still, I figure we're going to hit a time when more of us'll be needed.

Asleep...? Night 393

[Harley had just about drifted off when the loud thunk of Enoch's bag wakes her. She uprights quickly and looks around, rubbing at her eyes.]

Enoch, 'zat you? It's okay... are YOU okay?

[She watches him moving about and notices the bag, the now apparent culprit of the sound, and hops down from her own bed to help.]

Day 394 - Asleep

[ Having arrived earlier, and too excited at being with people again, Sheena is still awake and sitting on the floor with her back against the wall deep in thought when the pack hits the floor, startling her.

Getting to her feet, she answers in a soft voice. ]

I was already awake. Are you all right?

Room 02, OTA

Day (any except 388 and 392):

[Bunk beds! The inside of the bunker reminded Harley a little bit of cheerleading camp. If cheerleading camp had ever gotten snowed in and the cabins were really big and mostly filled with deadly mold and ants. Still, it feels a step above the Norfinbury outside. There's more more company with less chance of some of that company being anomalies. Harley'll take it. Especially if she can call top bunk. Which she has, by throwing her bag and emptying half of her belongings out on top of one.

Harley herself is down on the floor for the moment, however, with a bag of marbles. Trying to while the day away, she looks up and asks:]

Night (any except 387 and 391):

[Harley can't sleep. She still hasn't shaken the effects of low-level MN-induced mania and has the usual dozen thoughts racing through her head at once. More than half of them are Joker-related and are anxious about his return... which still hasn't happened yet. She needs a distraction. She whispers loudly to her bunkmate below:]

Psst, are you awake?

[If there's no answer, she'll just repeat it a little louder until there is one.]

[ Steph has to dig around her own backpack as well. The things she uses daily are in the outside pockets, so she's kind of forgotten what all she has. She names items as she pulls them out and then replaces them. ]

I've got... sharpie, regular paint and spray paint.

[ Gabriel, having just entered the room, looks thoughtful for a moment. But ultimately he shakes his head. ]

Just black paint, I'm afraid. Oh- I do have a bath bomb? But using it for chalk seems like kinda a waste. And probably wouldn't work great.

night 390

[Fortunately, Diana is indeed awake! Though she does generally have trouble with assuming that people aren't talking to her, so it takes a moment for her to whisper back, conscious of not disturbing Quark.] Um, yes?

[She hopes Harley is actually talking to her, or this will be a little embarrassing.]

386 - day;

[It seems like her puzzle skills have deteriorated, because not much in this bunker has become a useful lead in the way Diana would have assumed.

Given that Junpei has set up in room 8 for the day, she doesn't venture very far; only to the adjacent room 7 to fiddle around with the screwdrivers. But she's not much for electronics or building, so the end result is more that she sits by the box contemplatively, spinning a screwdriver idly between her fingers and occasionally thinking out loud from behind her improvised face mask:] What are we supposed to use these for...?


386-388 - night;

[They don't sleep in the same room every day; on 386 they bunk in 8, on 387 they sleep in 24, and on 388 they sleep in 26. But still, Diana's sleeping situation is the same. That is, she lays with her eyes closed for a while, but then inevitably sits up and resigns herself to wakefulness by the time it's gotten late. She glances around, of course, to make sure she won't be disturbing anyone, before digging around in her pack to retrieve some paper and a writing implement.

She settles in to occupy herself with what sounds like drawing, at least from the frequency of her pen strokes.]

night 388;

[ Angel isn't sleeping, either. Mostly because she caught a nap earlier on in the day, but also because the guard stations make her decidedly uncomfortable after the whole getting-cabin-fever-and-trying-to-murder-Rhys thing. Still - to avoid that happening again, switching up the sleeping area is a necessity. So. Here she is.

Bleh.

It takes a minute or two for her to notice the scritching of pen on paper, since she's distracted by her assorted bunker-related anxieties, but eventually she does take notice and sits up. Carefully. So she doesn't disturb the Hyperion Corporation And Associates Official Sleep Pile.™ ]

Psst. Do you need more light?

day 386

Computer repairs. Chips and other small parts are held in place with screws too small for a standard screwdriver.

[ Steph hasn't done a ton of exploring in the bunker. She's still on a kick of taking care of herself first and worrying about things other people are already working on second. At least she already has a micro-filter mask, even if the electronic component doesn't work. ]

386;

Dunno. Guess you could use those for a lot of different things.

[Quark toddles over, his words muffled from behind the cloth he has wrapped around his mouth, but he just talks louder to make up for it.]

If you wanted to get creative, anyway. But I'd guess they're from computers. It always ends up back at computers.

[1] Days 385 and on

[A contrast to his attitude on the network, the Xanxus those in the bunker will have come across doesn't seem all that threatening. At least, not immediately. Though he's interested in getting out of here, he can't be bothered dealing with anyone who isn't actively working on that, and has chosen not to waste effort ordering strangers around. Somehow, that almost makes him approachable-- save for the white liger constantly at his side.

But Bester's harmless too, isn't he?]



[2] Day 387, semi-closed to Squalo (and Angel and Rhys?)

[Once Angel's had her fun with Squalo-- or maybe cutting her time short instead-- it's Xanxus' turn to grab the shark's attention. By means of an empty backpack being thrown at him. Seemingly unprovoked, even.]

It's four days.

[And someone doesn't feel like wasting words. But it should be obvious what he's expecting. The bag's empty, with whatever rations Xanxus may still own clearly being stored elsewhere. Maybe guarded by his box animal? Either way: the time it would take to restock and return is the same as the time it'll take to run out, currently. In case he was the only one of them paying attention.]

Get moving.

[... Just to make sure he's not getting some wild idea like going together.]



[3] Days 388 and on

[Shortly after Room 2's been unlocked, that'll be the only place Xanxus spends the nights going forward. Sure, it's not exactly luxury, but by bunker standards it does seem to be the best place there is. So he doesn't have much interest in leaving unless news of unlocking the exit or at least better accommodation comes to him first. Neither of which is too likely.

While it won't be a problem for the first couple days, both his own irritability and a more aggressive nature from Bester might show after a while that cabin fever's starting to set in.

It'll take dragging Xanxus out of there by force to calm them both down, or risking the danger of waiting for the condition to make him leave on his own. Is either option really better than the other?]

3; since angel's staying behind after all 8V;

[ There are a few reasons why Angel feels like she should approach Xanxus about the whole potential-cabin-fever situation. He's important to Squalo, so she should really make sure he's alright while Sharkface McSweethair is absent. She got cabin fever here herself, so she can speak about it from experience. And finally, Xanxus is kind of a shithead and it's probably best not to inflict him on some unsuspecting other person.

Gosh darn her self-sacrificing nature. She takes a deep breath, pokes her head through the doorway, and beams widely. ]

Hey there! Sorry if I'm bugging you - how're you feeling?

[ Gabriel knows that sort of look. It's less of someone non-threatening and more of someone saving their energy. So he approaches cautiously- okay, the liger's presence helps with that, too. But the fact that a liger is here is fascinating. He hopes his owner can keep it alive. ]

[ Let's be real, probably cutting it short. Can't have the ho have too much fun with other people before reclaiming the territory and all that. Not that Squalo ever forgets his priorities. ]

[ Still, there's a small indignant shriek when the backpack flaps against the back of his head, and he turns a bit angrily, though it quickly fades into something more solemn. It's like he's sizing Xanxus up for a moment, then frowning. ]

I'm not leaving you behind. What if something happens?

[ He already can't live with himself for failing you once. ]

day 391, evening to night

[ It's been too goddamn long. He's not sorry for the gazzillion messages Xanxus is probably getting the next time he leaves the bunker. Of course, the lack of any proper contact means it's taking quite a bit of willpower to not just throw himself at the other man. ]

[ Instead, he tosses the food bag(s) at him from the doorway, with a tired but triumphant grin. ]

[ the prodigal son has returned with rations (not for you, though, unless you happen to be one of the baes), but he seems restless already. ]

[ maybe he should have gone to check out the coffin place. ]

[ if he's not idly poking around the tablet or one of the rooms, he might actually approach you. ]

[ it's fairly late when the commotion starts. it really sounds like one of your usual neighbor fights, except it's probably all in italian. there's lots of quick talking gradually growing into yelling, things getting thrown around, and all that. ]

[ for anyone who understands, or listens in long enough to catch some of Norfinbury's automatic translations when Squalo forgets to focus on the language in particular, he's apparently berating Xanxus for staying in the room with beds. ]

[ soon enough it grows into punching and shoving as he tries to physically remove the other man from the premises. ]

[ at some point during the fight, unsurprisingly, Squalo feels a tight grip on his hair, and then there's STARS. ]

[ normally, smashing his head into a wall would only make him shriek louder. unfortunately, he's lost quite a bit of his durability here, and so he slithers to the floor like a rubber glove, an expression of mild surprise still on his face as he stares at Xanxus for a moment and then blacks out. ]

[ if you're late to the party, you'll find him already unconscious on the floor. will you move him before any mold or anomalies come by? seek revenge? jerk off in front of his face or draw a mustache? the possibilities are endless. ]

[ and indicative of what kind of a person you are behind it all. ]

[ also xanxus might be there prodding him with his foot or something ]

[ Angel doesn't pay too much attention to the arguing. She's kind of tuning most of it out, honestly. Squalo is Loud and Xanxus is Difficult and none of this really seems all that unusual. Even the impact sound doesn't really make her pay attention - one of them probably just threw something? Haha, those wacky murderboys! Whatever will they get up to next.

It's only when she realises that the noise has stopped that she gets worried. She frets for a moment about whether this is really her business or not, decides it doesn't matter, and scurries into the room. ]

What's g-- what the frick!!

[ MAN DOWN MAN DOWN. She practically fucking powerslides over to Squalo to make sure he isn't, you know. Actually dead. Xanxus doesn't even get a sideways glance until she's checked that he's breathing and that his skull hasn't caved in. ]

What happened??

i. Day 396; closed to Rhys

[It's the bunker again, and keen as Beckett is to get back to exploring - to feel like he's doing anything useful - he's exhausted by both the travel and by the very concept of being in the bunker. Again. He feels like he is going to have to be on watch, on call, every moment of every day. And by feels he means knows. Because of Angel. Because of the large group. Because this is circling back around to the heart of the matter, the end.

It is therefore completely understandable that he should spend most of that first evening, late into the night, sat at a good vantage point in the room they've chosen to sleep in and keeping vigil. Trying to keep vigil. He mostly succeeds, but now and then his head droops. Tiny microsleeps, followed by startled awakening, an embarrassed pushing of his glasses up his nose.

What a good time to give him something nice, right, Rhys? Something nice!


ii. Any night except 386-7; open!

[During the day, it's easy. There is business. Exploration. Action. People. Beckett keeps himself occupied as much as he can and much of that occupation involves staying out of the way of people. He doesn't want to deal with them, they probably don't want to deal with him, it's a mutually beneficial arrangement. No people.

During the night, though, that's when it gets harder. The business dies down, but his energy doesn't always join it. He gets to pacing, peeking into rooms and at what people are doing, not being nearly as careful with his attempts at avoidance. Easy to mistake it for creepy vampire skulking. Maybe it is creepy vampire skulking.

It's just the quiet. The quiet gets to him. Someone should throw a pillow at his head.]

[ You know who doesn’t do the whole sleep thing much anymore? This Fucking Guy. And it’s more than fine with him, flush with energy he shouldn’t rightly have and working frantically on a project he stuffs back into his bag as soon as anyone comes close.

Enough is complete. Ish. His fingers have micro papercuts and he has bags under his eyes, probably visible to Beckett given that he’s RIGHT. UP IN HIS FACE. ]

Night 394; Open; room 26 (or 24 maybe)

*He knows its going to be full of people but he rushes into the bunker anyway. It took him too long to get here -- it was too close to lockdown -- for him to wait. But once inside he does hesitate. There are people, and he isn't himself. Hopefully just staying quiet and away from them will look normal enough to avoid any questions. So that's what he does, finds a corner of the room to rest in before figuring out what to do next.

He isn't filming, though.*
