[She holds on tight even when it makes the strap yank painfully on her fingers -- and, more importantly, steps in and tries to hook one of her feet around the back of his leg to pull it out from under him.]

[House isn't entirely expecting this level of dedication to stopping him, and he's more focused on keeping his pack, so when she trips him up, he's entirely unprepared for it.]

Jesus f-!

[He turns and half-grapples with Ecks to try to keep his balance, but he can't bring himself to really do anything to make her let go, which is likely to be his undoing.]

Let go, you idiot!

[She grapples back, getting a better grip on him -- and then lets her legs drop out from under her. Enjoy holding up all that extra weight, House.]

[He doesn't enjoy it at all and ends up tipping over on top of her. House grunts with the impact, then just tries to roll over and get away. This is stupid. his face, his arms, and his shoulders hurt. He doesn't need this nonsense.]

[She twists, trying to clamp onto him with her legs as well, trying to roll over with him and on top of him. She's had some training at this, but it's not one of her stronger suits. It will be better, she thinks, if she can hold him down without having to use pain to temporarily incapacitate him.]

Jesus Christ! Let me go, you moron!

[House has no training in this and he's worried about struggling too hard against her. People like Royce, Alfie, and the Joker are one thing. Ecks is very much another. She manages to pin him, and the doctor snarls before just trying to buck her off.]

Order rejected.

[It's said with utter calm, almost automatically. She's reluctant in turn to use much force, so she does her best to just hold him down. It's hard with only one hand to his two.]

[So, here's someone House probably doesn't want to see right now. But here he is anyway! You guys are being kind of loud, to be fair.]

Everything okay here? [It is obviously not but he would like to know what's going on anyway.]

Get her off of me!

[Hi, America. Do as your citizen commands.]

[ecks]

Do not get me off of him. He wants to jump into the pit.

[She sounds awfully calm about this, if a little out of breath.]

[There is a noticeable tensing of his muscles when House shouts at him, a definite instinct to help him even if he does wait for Ecks to explain. And, well, America has spent enough time reading the network and keeping an eye on who House talks to to know that Ecks generally has House's best interests in mind.

Also, House is pretty willing to murder himself for science even on days where they're not in a weird room with a weird pit. He's just going to help Ecks brace House more comfortably.]

Don't jump into the pit, dude.

[Or he'll say as much.]

Correct. You will not.

[Still sitting on him, thank you very much.]

Thank you, America. Do you have rope?

[fifty]

I have sheets. [That's sort of close, if you tie them right.] Do you think we'll have to tie him up? [America is obviously reluctant to go that far, but also he doesn't want House to dive headfirst into the pit.]

No. You won't. I'll be a good boy. Woof. Woof.

[He'll be a bad boy as soon as Ecks gets off of him.]

Woof?

[Ecks gives Doctor House a puzzled look. She furrows her brow and frowns at him and everything before looking up at America.]

He says that he will be a good boy....

[fifty]

Yeah, but that doesn't mean he'll actually do it. [Especially if he's barking, probably.]

Dude. I'm like literally right here. Are we seriously doing this?

[Ecks will have to suffer another bout of squirming as House tries to wriggle free while they're talking. His whole body hurts, but by spiders is he not going down without a fight!]

[ecks]

[Ecks is not above literally twisting his arm to make him stop -- not enough to cause damage, but enough to be painful.]

We are seriously doing this because you are lying and you are not being a good boy.

[fifty]

[America winces when Ecks twists his arm, but she's obviously not breaking it or anything, and he kind of deserves it. Still, he doesn't like watching, and drops his pack on the ground to grab some sheets.]

[House hisses at the twist and goes still for the moment.]

How do you know I'm lying?

[Let's try to out-logic her.]

I said I'd be a good boy when you let me up.

[ecks]

You lie frequently.

[She relaxes her grip; she doesn't want to hurt him when he isn't doing anything.]

...Do you pinkie swear that you will not go into the pit?

Yep!

[He will absolutely break that promise.]

[fifty]

You gotta make him actually do the pinkie swear. [It's impossible to tell if America actually believes this will work or if he just wants to see House do a pinkie swear.]

[ecks]

[Ecks considers this and decides that it is, indeed, a wise point. She lets go of House with her one and only hand, only holding him down with her body weight and her stumpy arm, and shifts to poke her pinkie demandingly at one of his hands.]
