[ Angel is pretty sure that was a rhetorical question, and not one that was even directed at her. The thing about that, though, is that she doesn't give an eff. ]
Although there were tests one time, kinda. Just not of the intelligence-measuring variety.
no subject
... Yeah, those sound more practical. I guess it wouldn't make much sense if it was that easy.
Maybe whoever brought us here wants to see who'll be the last one standing, once everyone starts getting impatient.
[Because when do people ever not turn on each other, in these situations?]
no subject
[ ... ]
Uh - neat as in tidy, not... the cool kind of neat. I don't think it's neat. This is the standard Norfinbury level of neat, which isn't very neat at all.
Hi, I'm Angel, and I'm really good at sounding like a complete socioopath.
no subject
[Negative, much?
At least Angel's introduction gets a bit of a smirk out of him. He may as well stand up, making some attempt to seem more interested.]
You know you're probably the first person I've met who realizes how that sounds?
... The name's Junpei.
[Because speaking of rivals, it might not be the best idea to force enough distance to make her one.]
no subject
[ And she grins. JOKING. JOKES ARE FUN. ]
Nice to meet you. Do you have everything you need? Food, water, people you know...?
no subject
[The question throws Junpei off for a moment. People... Yeah, there's definitely someone he's missing. But he can't go and wish she were trapped here, too. At least, not without realizing just how selfish that thought is.]
If you're offering whatever I want, I could use a way out of this town.
[As if anyone would just have the key to the gate in their pocket, or something.]
... Pretty sure I've got enough. I'm gonna be late getting back to my group, if.. whatever this is doesn't end soon, but I get the feeling that's the same for all of us. Plus there's even heating, now. Kinda sounds like a good trade.
I mean, until we all die horribly.
no subject
[ Hahahaha it's funny because she's been here two hundred and eighty-something days hahahaha they're never getting out hahaHAHA, ]
And you never know. We might not die horribly. Though I suppose that depends on your definition of horrible, huh? Like... death by anomaly is painless, but frightening. And distressing for those left behind. So Iunno if that qualifies as horrible and oh frick I'm being weird again.
[ WHY THIS ]
no subject
I guess when you put it that way, there's some appeal to jumping right in. The sooner you kick it, the less you'll have to watch.
no subject
[ This time, she's 100% unaware that that might sound kind of creepy. S H R U G. ]
I still wouldn't recommend hopping into the hole just yet.
no subject
But even while those other times didn't happen to him, while he can't possibly know the pain first-hand, somehow he can.. remember hearing the others' voices.
... No, it's not really a memory, is it..?
...
Staying silent isn't good, either way.]
But you might, later?
Wait for everyone to break down from losing their friends, first, so you can pick them off once they're weak?
It's not a bad plan. Now where's the one where nobody has to die?
no subject
[ She raises her hands to shoulder-level as if in surrender, in an attempt to look less intimidating. Which is completely fucking ridiculous because she's five feet tall and looks about as scary as your average fluffy kitten. The kind with the huge eyes and lil baby toe beans that gets like a zillion views on Space Instagram. ]
I just meant that - you know. I was making light of things. Instead of focusing on how we may just get horribly tortured and fed to a pit creature.

[ WHOOSH. Angel's just glad that she's hopefully not looking like a potential murdersassin any more. Time to point out other nice people!! ]
There's Steph, she's really fun. And helpful. And the blonde guy over there is Enoch, he's really sweet. And Ginger's pretty much anti-torture personified, and...
no subject
Steph's the one with all the guides?
... Man, and here I thought I'd seen enough people over the network. It really hits you, how many of us got dragged into this town, when you see everyone all together...
no subject
[ Which still feels really, really weird to her. Fifteen years being locked away all on your own will do that. ]
Only a few compared to how many have been here and died, though. Even if we're just talking about our own session.
no subject
I keep wanting to think those are the people who got out. That every one was able to get their consciousness back into their real body. Their real world. But...
I'm starting to wonder if that's too much to hope for.
no subject
[ Which. Kind of shows exactly how much she believes it's true. Bleh. ]
But hey, you shouldn't be giving up hope yet! You haven't been around here that long, have you...?
no subject
But it's almost been a year, for some of you, and the gate's still shut? ... I'm kinda used to getting out faster than that.
no subject
Maybe you should be giving out tips. Where'd you escape from? Uh, assuming that isn't too personal.
no subject
I wouldn't say I've got any. It was a replica of the Gigantic-- or, I guess some people call it the Britannic? The thing was, unlike here, we had instructions. All we had to do was follow them. I didn't think it was that straightforward at the time, but compared to all this... Solving puzzles, collecting keys, and making it to the exit while some of us were still alive was kinda.. easy.
