[This is stupid. John's well aware it's stupid, but he can't help asking a question that's been gnawing away at him for more than a week now.]

How tall is everyone? I've been wondering, meeting with different people here, what the spread of heights might be. Among other things. If you aren't sure on specifics or if you don't know the measurement system, I can give you an idea of how to compare units you might be familiar with.

Sherlock thinks I'm being targeted out of the doctors because I'm short. I'm trying to prove him wrong. The Joker put a hit on me with that Magenta bloke.

For Magenta, maybe. He managed to stab me, but I got him off and talked him down. He was doing it to get into the Joker's good graces. Reckon the kid's terrified of him.

Mm. Doesn't seem smart enough to try to manipulate you, but if you don't keep an eye on him, the Joker'll turn him back to his side.

Yeah, well, I'm finished doing house calls by myself for a while. Sherlock and Mary are both being... [He makes a small, irritated sound.] I could have dealt with him. I did deal with him. I was just trying to avoid more serious injuries.

[More serious than being stabbed.]

It was over a week ago. I think the learning moment's passed, mate. Plus, I told him joining up with my side would help him avoid a beating.

Not... exactly. I think Mary was gonna murder him after we spent the night and another day together.

No. He's off hiding from the Joker somewhere. Hopefully not getting murdered for mucking up killing me.

Well, I've pissed him off enough. I'm not surprised he's after me, honestly. Might be more surprised if he weren't. We've traded threats.

There are ways to find out that don't involve directly asking.

I'd suggest you care about Magenta less, but that's a lost fucking cause, in it.
