[As soon as Tifa finds him, she suddenly has no idea what to say. She frowns, crossing her arms over her chest almost defensively. There's a long pause as she tries to decide where to start.]

Why would you two even think of doing that?

How's Emily? Is she all right?

[Tifa rolls her eyes.]

Sleeping. You scared her half to death. Why didn't you worry about her before you decided to corner House in a bathroom?

He's been harassing Royce. He needed to be scared a bit; to be taught a lesson. It wasn't supposed to get as far as it did with her in the house.

Your lessons don't work on him. It should have never happened with Emily in the house at all. You just told me the other day you're worried about her.

Tifa, if I could turn back the fucking clock and tell him to wait until tomorrow, to split off for the morning and take House to another building, I would.

[Alfie opens his mouth to answer, but then shuts it. He zones out for a moment, listening.]

[Tifa's brow furrows. She still looks exasperated.]

[He whistles along for a few bars, but then stops, because it makes him uncomfortable.]

[Now her expression is edging into slight concern despite herself.]

I don't hear anything, Alfie.

[devoutish]

It doesn't matter.

[He sounds distracted. He shakes his head, and tries to get back to her original question. What had that been again...?]

Sometimes, right - sometimes House needs to be fucking dealt with. It will not happen again with Emily in the house. Not like this.

[Tifa hesitates before answering.]

Royce isn't going to listen to me. You have to make sure he agrees.

[devoutish]

Royce lost his fucking temper.

[Which is a problem.]

He talked about going for the fingers. I watched the hands, ready to hold him back from something I didn't want Emily to see. Then he went for the ear.

[She shakes her head, blowing out a breath.]

He always loses his temper around House, and House is never going to stop messing with either of you. He's already scared of you.
