[Tifa's mouth twists, but she just nods as she follows.]

[As gruff and curt as he's been with Tifa, he softens a little when he pads into the bedroom and sees Emily. Quietly and carefully, he bends over her sleeping form and gives her a kiss on the forehead. He murmurs something in another language - something that sounds a little bit like the prayers he says in the evenings - and follows it with:]

I'm sorry, sweetheart.

[He looks at her for a moment longer, then turns to go. The anger and tenseness aren't gone, but they're also not predominant right now. Those other feelings from before are coming back, and he just feels... defeated. Sad. Nervous. Afraid, even.

Lavender's blue...]

[And then later, after he sleeps, he comes back, finding her in the upstairs hallway. He's still grumpy, but his eyes are less hard when he looks at Tifa.]

[Tifa nods. She still looks vaguely uncomfortable, but at least she's not so angry anymore.]

Yes. He's thinking of leaving.

[Alfie's face darkens, because fuck that.]
