Not to him, no. Why does it matter?

[devoutish]

He may decide he likes you now.

I don't care. He can like me fine. I don't have to like him.

[devoutish]

[Alfie approves of that attitude.]

Well, we're not likely to run into him. He wants to avoid me for the time being.

[bywolves]

He wants to avoid you. [ Eyebrow raise. ] What did you do?

[devoutish]

I did nothing. He's injured and thinks he should travel on his own now, to keep from slowing the rest of us down. Fucking ridiculous.

[bywolves]

[ Well... Watson has a point, but. ] I assume you told him you don't care about that.

[devoutish]

I do care about that. It's gonna affect me, if I'm around him. But isolating himself is not the solution.

[bywolves]

Do you have a solution?

[devoutish]

To his broken bones? There is none. Yeah, short of dying and coming back. It's something he's gonna have to work around.

No. To him being injured and slowing people down. Seems like the best decision, to be on his own.

[devoutish]

That'll be a death sentence for him. Better to be around people who don't mind being slowed down. That'll be me, sometimes, and other people more often.

[bywolves]

[ SIGH. ] He can stay with Fiona.

[ That's gonna be a sore spot in a bit. ]

[devoutish]

He's trying to keep her away too, of course. He tells me, "Alfie, wouldn't you like to take her off and spend a bit of time on your own?" Clever git.

[bywolves]

The self-sacrificing act is annoying. [ He wrinkles his nose. ]

[devoutish]

[He's glad you agree, Royce. He would have expected nothing less.]

She'll catch up with him before I do, I expect.

[bywolves]

She can stay with him. Don't move. [ Sorry - that's more of an offhand order as Royce jabs his stupid broomstick at one of the eyes that's appeared on the wall above Alfie's head. It might be alarming, sorry Alfie.

Nothing happens, though, and Royce makes a grouchy sound. ]

[And to no one's surprise, Royce clearly wants the opposite of him going off alone with Fiona. But he'll put that aside for now to ask--]

[ Of course he does! He's a brat. ]

One of those eyes. Popped up. I hit it. Nothing happened. It's still there and it's looking at me.

[devoutish]

[He wants to see if it'll be visible to Royce on camera, or if he'll be able to see it himself when he gets his eyesight back.]
