[ SIGH. ] He can stay with Fiona.

[ That's gonna be a sore spot in a bit. ]

He's trying to keep her away too, of course. He tells me, "Alfie, wouldn't you like to take her off and spend a bit of time on your own?" Clever git.

The self-sacrificing act is annoying. [ He wrinkles his nose. ]

[He's glad you agree, Royce. He would have expected nothing less.]

She'll catch up with him before I do, I expect.

She can stay with him. Don't move. [ Sorry - that's more of an offhand order as Royce jabs his stupid broomstick at one of the eyes that's appeared on the wall above Alfie's head. It might be alarming, sorry Alfie.

Nothing happens, though, and Royce makes a grouchy sound. ]

[And to no one's surprise, Royce clearly wants the opposite of him going off alone with Fiona. But he'll put that aside for now to ask--]

[ Of course he does! He's a brat. ]

One of those eyes. Popped up. I hit it. Nothing happened. It's still there and it's looking at me.

[He wants to see if it'll be visible to Royce on camera, or if he'll be able to see it himself when he gets his eyesight back.]

[ He does! The picture fuzzes and glitches, but he's got a picture. ]

[ God, Royce never thought there'd be a day where he'd say he actually missed being surprised by the little things Alfie says. Royce wrinkles his nose. ]

[ Pause, and then he shifts, pulling his hood up and letting his broomstick clatter noisily against the wall as he settles. ] I was just asking. Try not to be too defensive, Solomons.
