the admin told us the wireless recharge was down
we had to work out what the hell was going on ourselves
between the symptoms
the clicking from a geiger counter we got later
and the piecemeal system shutdown
we got there

the symptoms were completely out of order, immediate, and severe in all patients
it took us a day or two to get to radiation because symptoms weren't progressing in any way that made sense
nausea and vomiting
followed by diarrhea
reddened skin
then fever
then blistering skin
before we finally got to disorientation, muscle spasms and irregular heartbeat

admin told us different systems were shutting down progressively as they lost power
so all of that points to an exposure rate that makes chernobyl look like a blip

Was there any sort of correlation with a person's location and how the symptoms presented? Some sort of area effect?

Outside of the nanomachines, is there some sort of containment around this place? Something that keeps filtering out the toxins in tandem with what the nanomachines themselves do?

the only correlation was above ground vs below ground
we got sick up above
they ran mazes and answered riddles below
below ground was split into competing teams
we were threatened with fewer resources if the team rep'ing our area fell behind the others
they ended up relatively even
the area of effect is the entire known map of norfinbury at present
no idea if it extended beyond that

also no idea on the additional filter
the only thing keeping us in are giant ice and metal walls
no one's been able to climb them
the guys who got a view over the top just saw ice, ice, and more ice

So the environmental control system isn't the same below ground as it is above ground. I'm assuming there's no way to easily access this underground portion.

Did they ever see the life support system itself? And if so could they potential detail how it worked and what they did to fix it?

they knocked everyone out, marched people below ground, wiped their memories
knocked everyone out again and marched them back up, wiped their memories
our best guess is that it's accessible through a series of trapdoors we've identified around town in the houses
no one's been able to get through the doors at this point
we know underground extends to at least 500 ft down
managed to get a tablet down through the vent system in the post office and timed how long it took to fall down a shaft

re: seeing the life support system
guy named robert miller working with the admin adjusted the perceptions of everyone underground and above so that we were just seeing what they wanted us to see
one guy's ai was able to get a glimpse at what might have actually been going on
said the place looked destroyed and the guys in the tunnels were doing some sort of superhuman computer server card replacement and shuffling
in short: yeah they probably saw it
but the admin screwed with our heads enough we only know what we think we saw
not what was actually there or what anyone was really doing

[All of this is actually fairly horrifying, but House will just... ignore that in favor of talking about it casually.]

Was anyone able to attempt to open any of the trap doors when the power was siphoned away? I have a feeling the answer may be no given the symptoms you described.

you're got nanomachines crawling around every system in your body
and they've developed technology that can map brains
and programs that can target-delete memories
we've got another ai outside norfinbury who explained they were using wifi to basically reprogram us
brains are just computers
this place takes that to the logical extreme

I'm assuming that any attempt to reprogram the nanomachines using these tablets was unsuccessful? What about intercepting the signal that transmits to them?
