you assume correctly
the admin has ability to mind control us
they knocked everyone out, marched people below ground, wiped their memories
knocked everyone out again and marched them back up, wiped their memories
our best guess is that it's accessible through a series of trapdoors we've identified around town in the houses
no one's been able to get through the doors at this point
we know underground extends to at least 500 ft down
managed to get a tablet down through the vent system in the post office and timed how long it took to fall down a shaft

re: seeing the life support system
guy named robert miller working with the admin adjusted the perceptions of everyone underground and above so that we were just seeing what they wanted us to see
one guy's ai was able to get a glimpse at what might have actually been going on
said the place looked destroyed and the guys in the tunnels were doing some sort of superhuman computer server card replacement and shuffling
in short: yeah they probably saw it
but the admin screwed with our heads enough we only know what we think we saw
not what was actually there or what anyone was really doing

[All of this is actually fairly horrifying, but House will just... ignore that in favor of talking about it casually.]

[Funny enough, Fitz is use to this brand of crazy. It's on par with the things HYDRA tends to get up to back home.]

Was anyone able to attempt to open any of the trap doors when the power was siphoned away? I have a feeling the answer may be no given the symptoms you described.

This Robert Miller

Is he some sort of inhuman? Does he have some sort of ability that allows him to alter our perceptions or was there something added to the air itself?

Someone here has an AI? Would I be able to contact them same as I'm speaking to you?

nope

and it's nothing in the air
it's in our blood
you're got nanomachines crawling around every system in your body
and they've developed technology that can map brains
and programs that can target-delete memories
we've got another ai outside norfinbury who explained they were using wifi to basically reprogram us
brains are just computers
this place takes that to the logical extreme

you would
@dickcheese
rhys is a dick
the ai in his head is a murdering psycho half the time
just fyi

I'm assuming that any attempt to reprogram the nanomachines using these tablets was unsuccessful? What about intercepting the signal that transmits to them?

Sounds like a few people I know.

Thank you.

@guardian tried hacking the tablets for a while
admin shut her down and out
none of the other techies have managed to jailbreak these things
intercepting the signal hasn't worked, either
i tried blocking it out manually
ever tried to macgyver a faraday cage when all you have is some aluminum foil and broken boards?
not very effective

What apart taking the tablets themselves apart? Has anyone tried to reverse engineer them?

It actually wouldn't be that impossible on a small scale. To build a faraday cage that is. You could easily make something small enough to fit the tablet inside that would be effective with tinfoil and even something like cardboard.

the second you break that thing open you're going to get paralyzed
the admin is going to yell at you
and a little spider army is going to come out of the walls to collect everything
even if you try to swallow some of the chips inside down
angelcakes found that out the hard way
they'll cut you open to get everything back

try it
let me know how that works out

And what about building a faraday cage and attempting it that way?

the tablets are pretty much indestructible
the only thing we've gotten them open with is a door slamming shut on them at mandatory lockdown
incidentally
don't try to use a foot or any other limb to try to keep the door open at lockdown
unless you really wanna lose it
then by all means

like i said, though
you wanna try it
try it

Fantastic.

I'd rather keep my limbs, thank you.

I may.

good
share what you find
you'll need to actually get some foil first
search the houses
it's not one of the common things

Um...

[They hope it's okay to interject.]

I dunno about a lot of that stuff but I was one of the people who went down there. So I can try to answer questions 'n stuff. Or if you need an adult I can tell you who else was down there.

So you were in the mainframe?

Do you remember what exactly you did to it? Did you manually reprogram it or were you doing something else entirely?
despiteeverything: (death by glamour)

[personal profile] despiteeverything 2016-08-11 01:10 am (UTC)(link)
[They pause, trying to figure out how best to describe it.]

Well, um... most of the time it was just like... questions and stuff. Mean ones like who we hated most, or other ones like what day it was or what a certain house looked like.

Um... there were two times though. One where we were supposed to fix circuits? I think that's what they were. And another where we had to replace lotsa chips. Even then though we had to do stuff like get through a maze, or keep the chips from disappearing.

It sounds though like what we thought we were doing wasn't really what we were doing, though.

So whatever it was had a lot of components. But they weren't allowing you to see exactly how it functioned.

But it definitely runs off a generator or large power source of some sort...

Do you remember hearing anything? Humming, grinding?
despiteeverything: (I am the legendary what)

[personal profile] despiteeverything 2016-08-16 03:48 am (UTC)(link)
Um... I dunno. It's been a while, sorry. I don't remember any part that, um, that really stuck out? Though um, after all the power went out, they said they heard a Geiger counter on the network. We couldn't hear it down there though.

There was also the part we saw at the end. Maybe that'll help?

[What little they saw while being chased by the anomaly thing.]

onthefitz: (Default)

[personal profile] onthefitz 2016-08-23 12:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes someone else mentioned the Geiger counter as well.

[And it was unsettling.]

What did you see at the end?
