[network; video] @MarbleHornets; ERROR [day 006]

There's a horrific metallic screech, with a video displaying only the floor of the elementary school for a few moments. Then, it rises, showing a much more intact school than the current travelers would be used to.. Two unknown people are speaking, both women.

"Are you seeing that?"

"No I--wait, yes. What are those?"

"Get it on video, quick."

The display jerks down another hallway. None of the lights are on; the only point of light is the distant illumination of the other end of the hallway, where the lights still work. Shadows seem to shift and twitch--no, shadows are shifting and twitching. Darker than the gloomy surroundings, humanoid shadows can be seen. They're twitching and wandering aimlessly in the middle of the hallway.

Once the camera really focuses on them, though, their heads all turn at once to face it. And, with torn apart voices, they begin to scream.

The video ends.

But you did see something out of the ordinary? What was it?

[Excuse the apparent lack of surprise. He's plenty surprised, he's from before typed text and doesn't know what italics are for. He just knows they're an option. He also seems to have missed the underline option, which he does recognize.]
genreblindness: (so I'm calling it a night.)

[To be fair, seeing something out of the ordinary is not even surprising for Jay anymore, so the seemingly unaffected tone is just fine by him.]

We recorded some video while we were looking around. It was heavily distorted and got worse the further in we went.

That's rather strange. It can't be those creatures, or the video here would be distorted, correct? I wonder what could be causing it. Perhaps there are answers there. Where is this school, in relation to the northern or southern wall? Is either wall visible from it?

There's all kinds of weirdness happening with distortion here. I have no idea what the cause might be.

The wall's not visible from the school, no. There's nothing but snow for a good distance around it, so if you run out of buildings you can tell you're probably getting close to it.

[That sounds like it would make it dangerous to reach. He makes a mental note of it anyway because he's heard there's food there, and he's running out of food - the only reason he has enough left for more than tomorrow at all is because he didn't eat at all the second day for feeling too ill.]

All right. I just hope I'll go the right direction when I find this expanse of snow. Whatever that distortion is, surely it's trying to scare us away.

[He isn't sure what this school is for, being long before organized education systems. But people have been finding these cards there, and that's all the incentive he needs to try to find it. Maybe there will be information on this town hall he's looking for on one of those, or at the very least a clue to what happened here. And being deliberately scared away means there's something there that would be inconvenient for them to see.]
