There's a horrific metallic screech, with a video displaying only the floor of the elementary school for a few moments. Then, it rises, showing a much more intact school than the current travelers would be used to.. Two unknown people are speaking, both women.

"Are you seeing that?"

"No I--wait, yes. What are those?"

"Get it on video, quick."

The display jerks down another hallway. None of the lights are on; the only point of light is the distant illumination of the other end of the hallway, where the lights still work. Shadows seem to shift and twitch--no, shadows are shifting and twitching. Darker than the gloomy surroundings, humanoid shadows can be seen. They're twitching and wandering aimlessly in the middle of the hallway.

Once the camera really focuses on them, though, their heads all turn at once to face it. And, with torn apart voices, they begin to scream.

The video ends.

[His tone is heavy with skepticism. It's not totally impossible, he supposes, but it seems unlikely.]

I didn't say that. [Suggested, maybe.] We don't what they are.

We know that they're creepy as hell. That's enough for me.

It isn't for me.

I need to know more.

[They very well could be the reason whoever was here before isn't any longer. They could be whoever was here before. Either way, learning more about them could provide answers. She isn't about to let that opportunity pass without at least a brief investigation.]

Of course, if they really are demons, I may be a bit out of my league.

[Humor? Honesty? Sarcasm? It's so very hard to tell.]

[It's getting very hard to argue against her. Needing to know more is something Jay understands very, very well. It's not as though he's not curious about the things himself.]

What are you gonna do if you are? Out of your league, I mean?

[She can be terribly stubborn when she gets an idea into her head, but the slight smile is almost audible when she answers that question.]

The same thing I always do. Figure it out.

[And hope for the best. She seems very confident, however, that nothing will go so wrong she can't find a way out. Like she's certain she's been in worse situations.]

[Not like it's Jay's place to tell her what to do, anyway. Hopefully she really will be able to handle herself.]

[As if any amount of logic could talk her out of it.]
