[He skipped the survey at first because he doesn't like her.

He still doesn't like her.

...but he trusts @ADMIN even less, and these are useful statistics that he would probably contribute to if they weren't posted by someone annoying.

Tough choice.]

America encountered one on day 52 in the eastern tunnel coming out of the hospital. He was alone at the time.

Then America, Sealand, and I saw one on day 66 near the petrol station.

[Intel is life but so is spite, okay.]

Sealand. Turned it on a while ago, I believe.

[But in the middle of typing that, recalling when the Beacon app first showed up, he remembers something he tries to keep out of his mind in his waking moments. How unfortunate. But he adds it, regardless.]

He ran into one on his own. I don't know exactly what day, just that he came back on day 27.

I suppose I could ask, but I'd rather not dredge up that memory needlessly. Any time between days 23 and 26 is a safe estimate in this case, I imagine.

[In this case...]

Blah, blah, blah, researcher data-y things. Numbers! Docs and gifs? [ Pronounced like jiff. ] Names and symbols and oh, look! More numbers.

Did I cover everything?

[ TOO MUCH INFORMATION TO PROCESS and pretty damn clueless as to what it even means to begin with but he can get the jist of it between 'anomaly' and 'attack'... ]

The 'anomalies' you mentioned, they the monsters I've been hearing about or something else? [ Partially curious. Especially considering the weird ass centipede he encountered his very first night here... ]

So you followed suit. Great. Good to know I wasn't hallucinating my first day here, then.

I've seen much worse than a giant centipede trying to mess with my head. Much worse.

I thought I answered this... But, there are two in our group--if you want to call us that. First one of us had the beacon on, then both of us did. After the shadow monsters first appeared, we haven't been bothered by them since.

Is it possible the even number of beacons or even the size of the group might have something to do with it?

Not your fault. It just might be a case of me thinking I answered because I wanted to, but hadn't.

But even though the data is small, is there anything you can get out of it? Not right away--like this minute. If you've been doing this for a while, you need a break, Stephanie.

And...I think you can start by telling me what that little symbol is. Please?

[ Sheena knows the feeling. Except in her case, always achy which sometimes gets worse. ]

An emoticon? A picture of an emotion? [ A moment as she does what Stephanie suggests. ] Oh, hey! I can see it now!

That's pretty interesting! Are there others?

[Because he can totally make perfect sense of this when he's about to go to sleep. He tries anyway.]

So it seems as if larger groups don't attract them at all, quite the opposite. That makes sense, if they are preying on us as animals would. Smaller groups are more vulnerable.

And yet, the largest group drew the largest amount of monsters.
warriorscribe: (Something's out there...)

[personal profile] warriorscribe 2016-01-28 05:32 am (UTC)(link)
And yet the most attacks seem to have happened in the smallest groups.
warriorscribe: (No but really...)

[personal profile] warriorscribe 2016-02-01 03:16 am (UTC)(link)
True. And yet, it wouldn't seem to be so inevitable - I've rarely been without at least two others and went days without seeing one, as you have written there.

I wonder if there's something overlooked here. The largest groups should never be left alone, by this reasoning.
