Hm? Oh, you know. Just. Dumpy stuff? Sorry if he, uh, wigged you out a little there.

[ She grins, albeit a touch feebly. EVERYTHING IS COOL. ]

[Kunsel regards the robot for another moment, then wryly shakes his head.]

Not sure I'll ever understand what his programmer was ever thinking.

Well. We don't always turn out the way our programmers want us to, do we? Maybe Dumpy was a cute little accident. Since he's some kind of security drone, if a bug snuck its way into his code then it would be exceptionally difficult to fix - I assume Atlas products are loaded with a similar set of core failsafes to Hyperion robots, deeply integrated with their most basic coding to prevent anyone tamperi--

[ She's robo-babbling again, isn't she. Darnit. ]

Um, anyway, I'm glad he's the way he is. He's cute!

[He gives her an odd look at that.]

Ah... I don't know what you thought about me, but I'm not a robot, Angel.

[But if he's bothered at all by her robo-babbling, it doesn't show. The odd look returns to the smile that was there before.]

It would be pretty hard to fix any bugs in his programming here, wouldn't it. [Not really a question. He's just being conversational.] No tools, no computers except for the tablet. Is it even possible to hook him up to one at all?

Metaphorical programmers, you goof! Authority figures, teachers, par...ents...

As for hooking Dumpy up to things, it'd take some futzing around. Not that it matters, since Rhys can access at least some of his functions wirelessly. As far as I know, the only thing he can't do is charge up the little guy's stungun.

...Though that might be possible using my ports and jury-rigging something together? Huh. I mean I might get a little singed since there's no way we could put together a perfectly-shaped adapter with the things available to us here, but it should be doable? More than doable.

[ If she can charge a freaking Vault key, she should be able to charge up Dumpy's taser. Overcharge it, even. Filing that away for later. ]

Hey, I already had one person think I was a cyborg. Because of my... [He gestures toward his eyes. Angel can't see them right now while he has his helmet on, but she's seen them before. She'll know what he's talking about.] You know. It's reasonable for me to make sure you didn't assume something else.

[He's smiling, though, showing that he didn't take offense.]

You really think you could power something up with your ports? [Now he's curious.] You don't think they neutralized that part of your powers?

Hee, really? You should've let them run with that. As for charging, ummm...

[ Well. She couldn't charge a Vault key any more, that's for sure. But... ]

...I could probably charge basic things, yeah. Maybe. That's not a Siren thing, the ports just - you know people's brains produce electricity, right? Think of the ports as something that focuses and amplifies it. To an extent. I couldn't power a reactor or anything, but something smaller should be fine.

Nah, he's a friend. I don't much like lying to friends.

[Then, because he's been on his feet all day, he glances around the room, looking for a place to sit down. The best seats all seem to be taken, though (what few of them there are), so he shrugs and sinks to the floor, leaning his back against a wall. He gestures, welcoming Angel to join him if she wants.]

What kinds of things would you need if you wanted to try that out?

Mmm. Let's see...

[ She plops down beside him, but not without shooting a slightly nervous look over her shoulder first. NOBODY'S TOUCHING ANYONE, THIS IS FINE. COOL YOUR JETS, INVISIDAD. ]

Since finding the correct kind of adapter would be pretty much impossible, maybe... aluminum foil? It's conductive and easy to shape, so it'd do in a pinch. Rhys is really good at this stuff, I'm sure he could fudge something together. And wires, ideally! Though it's possible to make those from foil too, it's... not exactly efficient. Or safe. Especially since getting singed would be likely even under more suitable conditions.

[Kunsel pulls his knees up and props his arms on them, turning his head so he can look at her.]

Hmm. I don't have any aluminum foil, but I've got twist ties and Zell has paper clips. Would those help?

[The thought of Hiro's cell phone crosses his mind, too, but the wiring inside something like that is designed to be as short and compact as possible. It wouldn't help for something like this.

Besides, he's still hoping to give it back to Hiro, if he can.]

They might. A little. Assuming the clips are steel, anyway. It's not especially conductive, but it could work in place of anything better? Copper or aluminum are more efficient - or silver and gold, but those are probably pretty hard to come by here.

[ She shrugs lightly. Beggars can't be choosers, right? ]

...Geez, I never thought I'd be peeved that my collar was taken from me when I got here. Being able to strip that for parts would make this so much easier!

[Tifa is totally not eavesdropping! Totally not. It's just that this house is small, okay? So she overhears snippets of their conversation, and makes her way over.]

Hey... I have aluminum foil. What are you trying to do?

[Kunsel's mouth is opened to ask about what collar Angel's talking about, but Tifa joins in before the words leave his mouth, and then he's distracted enough to forget he was going to ask.]

Angel's trying to connect a battery to something.

[He glances at Angel, silently asking if she wants to say more than that. Kunsel trusts Tifa, who already knows full well what he is, but Angel's secrets are her own to tell.]

I didn't realize you had foil. That's perfect, Tifa. We were thinking about using paper clips.

[phaseshifter]

Yeah. My ports!

[ Angel volunteers the extra information without any prompting, along with a grin and a tap to the side of her head. Yeah, she's more than okay with Tifa knowing about this.

She's also more than okay about not being asked questions regarding control collars, thanks. WHEW. ]

Dumpy has - had a taser, and we were kinda wondering if I'd be able to charge it. Since that's the primary function of my ports, really.

[Tifa's eyebrows raise, and she tilts her head.]

Oh. Well, you can have as much as you need, but... Is that safe?

[Okay, she's a worrywart. But it's hard to wrap her mind around charging something with head ports.]

I imagine there's at least some kind of feedback buffer built into the ports themselves, to protect you from power surges and backwash?

[There's just enough of a question in his voice to underscore the tilt of his head. It really is just an educated guess. He doesn't actually know anything about the technology used for her ports.]
