Besides, he could have prevented this. He should be the one to fix it. The similar air is pressing on his chest in building anxiety, but it's not an overwhelming one. There is no fear of making things worse beyond this similarity in atmosphere. It's something even healers of his time could do if the break wasn't too severe. It's not beyond the realm of what he considered safely doable. Not at all like amputating a still-living toe.
He's able to force the uneasiness aside further by repeating his resolve, this time:]
What did I just tell you, Clayton? I'd do anything to help you, if you need it. I'll look after you the way you've looked after me. You'll only have to tell me how.

...Sorry. Talkin' myself in circles. Need some sleep after this.
[Down to work, then. His smile falters; it takes a lot of effort to pry away his fingers from his arm, as he's unconsciously reached up to cradle it once the support of his jacket went away, and even more to roll up the sleeves of his layered shirts from how swollen it is. A mottled, angry bruise covers his upper arm through his shoulder. The swelling and bruise neatly mask the break, but Clayton can feel it under his fingers, a tight knot on the outer edge of his arm. But he's been trained to look for these sorts of things--it seems obvious to him, maybe not so much to Enoch. Clayton gestures for his hand so he can guide it lightly over top and find it for himself.]
Here...feel that? The lump?

He nods as he feels the knot Clayton is talking about, careful as if handling glass. Clayton's nervousness brings out his own in little waves of renewed doubt, insistent nagging in the back of his mind. He swallows and nods again, redoubling his concentration.]
Yes, I feel it.
[He looks up at Clayton for further instruction.]

[The part of him that isn't actually thinking and just working on reflex answers instead: ]
Alright. Both hands, here 'n here-- [Clayton guides Enoch's hands again, one at the top of his shoulder, one just above his elbow, and curls his fingers to encourage a firm grip. It smarts but so does everything else. Not much change from the norm here.] --keep a good hold an' pull. No sharp movements; want the muscles t' relax, all...all gradual-like. Don't let up 'til you feel it give. You can do that?
no subject
Of course.
[He knows it won't be pleasant - just because he hasn't done this before doesn't mean he's ignorant of everything to do about it. But he also knows it has to be done, so he doesn't shy away, keeping his head bowed to watch the arm as he carefully pulls as asked. In common with the toes incident, Enoch doesn't let Clayton see his face, how his pain hurts him. He's helping, they can't afford to push that away.
At least he knows Clayton knows he should do his best to keep still.]
