Hell of a learning curve, I suppose. [ Will usually wasn't a 'glass half full' personality, but he could feel the frustration and guilt wafting from House's general location. ]

He can't bring himself to imagine what could have happened to Quark, and the slightest thought in that direction makes him sick. He was about the same age as his own boys...

He doesn't understand. He had just spoken with him a week ago. His firm, unwavering tone is meant to conceal his worry, but may give away more than he intended.]

[Roland doesn't doubt that this person's message could come from grief, but it's irritating to be scolded for stating the facts. Still, he's not one to take away a person's hope.]

I understand. We're all very worried about him and it will be a relief when he returns.

[But in the case that he isn't... they'll simply have to deal with that reality when they arrive at it.]

Quark'll definitely be okay! He's a tough kid! [First of all: America almost said that to the tablet before he realized he could just talk directly to Roland. He's that kind of guy. Second: it's pretty clear that America needs to believe this as much as he is trying to make Roland feel better, because Quark is a good kid and one of his citizens and important.]

[Roland sighs. He's always loved kids, and it's painful to hear of this, even if Quark is a virtual stranger. But since his concern has clearly come to America's attention, he does his best to shake it off and smile weakly. He pretends like he's in a joking mood:]
