Police Station
[The layout is different from his own workplace and of course so much smaller than the station in Montréal; but it's eerily familiar in so many ways, like a miniature showcase of an idea of a police station almost. And everything rings home. The desks, the doors, even the cells... For the first time David feels something like a shiver running down his spine, something like a maybe. Maybe this is real, maybe all of this is really happening and--
Fuck no. It's not real. It can't be.
But he pokes around at the station, searching the cabinets, even the ones that are clearly empty. Or maybe he just wants to linger in this place because it's the most familiar thing he has come across so far. Only it's frustrating and enraging and kicks one of the chairs across the room, swearing.] Ciboire de tabernacle, m'a t'en crisser un... [And so on, and so forth.]
2. Later/Slip-up
[He's lost in thought. Granted, it doesn't happen often - or doesn't seem to happen often - but as he takes another moment to study the red souvenir from the pit on the palm of his hand he finds himself fiddling with the wedding band hanging from a chain around his neck and absent-mindedly pressing it to his lips. Here be some actual emotion? Maybe??]
2
Holy shit!
[Having appeared, he points directly at the wedding band David's playing with.]
Someone actually married your ugly mug?
no subject
Sure did. Let me do the sex with them, too. That's when two people...
[He's rocking his hips back and forth a couple of times in demonstration before letting his arms fall back at his side, rolling his eyes.]
One day when you're big and strong someone will come along for you, too.
no subject
So same-sex marriage is legal where you come from, yeah? How progressive!
no subject
So is punching smartasses in the face.
[Technically it's not but it's a rule David likes to break more often than not.] You want to see progressive?
no subject
Alright now, calm down! I was only joking. There's no need to make things personal. I'm sure you have a lovely family.
Aquarium
Let's play a game, shall we?
[He rubs his hands together. The boxes look like general knock-offs of Battleship, Checkers, and Life.]
