[David's first instinct is to do the opposite because he doesn't like to be told what to do. Thing is, the pit also tells him what to do, so it's a bit of a mess.

Eventually he follows Enoch, though, because that's the less disturbing option for now.]

Maybe the walls will close in on us at some point.

I certainly hope not. It's not something that I've seen happen before...

[That just means it can happen, right? No two things have been exactly alike. But it may also mean it might not be possible...

He's not even sure what to think about it. He's not even sure he should be thinking about it.]

... What, but that is?

[Pointing at the pit.]

...No. It's more the...sudden transportation to somewhere possibly underground that's familiar here.

[That's what the falling dream had to mean? Falling isn't one of his usual nightmares. In fact, he rarely ever dreams of it.]

[Well, that makes... slightly more sense. Somehow. Maybe.]

Okay, so teleportation is a thing, too. And it's usually underground?

We've been- in a place like this twice now. The first time I don't think we were aware in any way, even in a dream. We simply woke in empty rooms with walls like these. After a day, doors appeared in the walls - we were all certain we'd never noticed them before.

[So don't jump is the moral, because waiting offers opportunity.]
