Good. [ A beat. ] I don't want to be alone.

[devoutish]

I'm always gonna be with you, mate.

[It doesn't feel like an empty promise - it feels like one he can actually keep.]

[bywolves]

Yeah. I know. [ He rests his head against Alfie's shoulder, finally. ] Always going to be with you.

Tell me if you're going to go jump. I'll wait.

[devoutish]

I'm gonna rest, first. Think on it. Stay here with me for a bit, eh?

[bywolves]

Yeah. I'm not going anywhere. Rest, I'll watch our things.

[devoutish]

Mind if I close my eyes?

[bywolves]

I don't mind. [ He shifts, making it easier for Alfie to rest on him if he wants. ] Take as long as you need.

[devoutish]

[He'll lean in just a little, and will even doze a bit, comforted by the feeling of Royce's head on his shoulder. He never completely drifts off, and he's always at least semi-aware of what's going on around him, but at least he's able to rest.]
