zunesareawesome: (Concern)

[The obvious logic gives Peter pause. His brows furrow, and he rubs his face.]

I...yeah. You wouldn't, would you?

I don't know why I thought that.
warriorscribe: (Tight smile)

[personal profile] warriorscribe 2018-02-15 06:15 am (UTC)(link)
Your mind may be trying to protect you, somehow. You're more alert, and warier, who wouldn't be, in a place like this?

[His hasn't shown up as full blown paranoia, but who knows what Peter's been through since they last spoke, anyway? It makes sense in his own sleep-deprived head, at least.]
zunesareawesome: (Definitely unsure)

[personal profile] zunesareawesome 2018-02-15 03:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, maybe.

[He's on guard for thoughts that seem right but aren't his, though, and that's just makes him warier.]

Unless something in here's making us think things we shouldn't be.
warriorscribe: (Did I hear you right?)

[personal profile] warriorscribe 2018-02-17 08:23 am (UTC)(link)
I...I don't know if possessiveness is one of those things. The only effect I've seen is- it's a desire to jump into the pit with that creature.

[If it's doing other things, it might be more like a demon than he thought. Then again, what if it does simply lack understanding? What if by going down there he can help teach it?

...Too risky. He doesn't even need to realize these thoughts aren't right, because he's also equated it with a demon.]
zunesareawesome: (Uhhhh...)

[personal profile] zunesareawesome 2018-02-17 01:28 pm (UTC)(link)
[That's kinda worrisome. Maybe he's just...been on guard for too long. Too worked up all the time? Stuff like this happens to people who get overly stressed, right?]

Yeah, well. I guess it's just me, then. [He rubs the back of his head worriedly, eyes gazing back at that Pit and feeling the pull.] I don't know, I just...my father destroyed my Walkman, and I keep thinkin' it's gonna happen again to my Zune.
warriorscribe: (I'm listening)

[personal profile] warriorscribe 2018-02-18 01:49 am (UTC)(link)
Your..."Walkman"?

[He didn't know what a Zune was. How on earth would he know what a Walkman is?]
zunesareawesome: (A bit smug)

[personal profile] zunesareawesome 2018-02-18 09:06 am (UTC)(link)
My old music player. [Despite everything, he cracks a slight smile.] Sorry, I keep forgetting. How did you handle suddenly getting a tablet when you first came here, anyway?
Edited 2018-02-18 09:06 (UTC)
warriorscribe: (Quite nice considering the circumstances)

[personal profile] warriorscribe 2018-02-18 09:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh. I'm...sorry it was destroyed.

[He pulls out his tablet, though, like everyone else's, it doesn't work.]

You're likely more interested in your question than lingering on it, though. I was fairly confused, of course, but I had seen something like it. I simply had never used anything like it for myself.

[He did spend over three hundred years watching Lucifel with his phone, and in the end was able to shut down the computer Semyaza had running the Tower - properly, figuring out how to enter a password and all.]

Others of my time might have had more difficulty.
zunesareawesome: (Huh)

[personal profile] zunesareawesome 2018-02-19 07:57 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah. Me too. [He rubs the back of his head. As much as he loves his Zune, he's had his Walkman forever and the lack of it is sometimes almost physically painful.]

You did? Well, that's not so bad then, I guess. I thought you were gonna be like one of those guys who are like "what is evil magic contraption!?"
warriorscribe: (Only a smile)

[personal profile] warriorscribe 2018-02-19 08:34 am (UTC)(link)
[Congratulations, Peter. This is probably one of the last laughs - or near-laughs anyway - that anyone will get out of Enoch for the next couple days at bare minimum.]

No... I never did agree with that, even before being introduced to anything like it. If you immediately distrust something you don't know, how will you ever know what it truly is?

[His brain wastes no time reminding him that immediate distrust is exactly what he did with the pit. This is different, though. Prior experience, with both Norfinbury and demons, informs him here. This is definitely not the same, and the fear of further trauma is enough to distance himself just far enough from the thought to not follow through.]
zunesareawesome: (It's Star-Lord)

wow this is an old thread forgive me

[personal profile] zunesareawesome 2018-03-20 10:04 am (UTC)(link)
That's...a surprisingly good attitude to have. Huh. I always thought people from the olden times would be against anything new.
warriorscribe: (Gentleness)

It's okay!

[personal profile] warriorscribe 2018-03-21 03:56 am (UTC)(link)
[This is comfortable ground. The pit's pull is becoming less irritating.]

At least one person must be in support of it, or we would never have anything new.
zunesareawesome: (It's a real smile.)

[personal profile] zunesareawesome 2018-03-25 03:29 am (UTC)(link)
Ha! That's true!

[You get finger-guns, Enoch.]

Still though. Coming here? Didn't all this technology seem like magic to you?
warriorscribe: (Nervous smile)

[personal profile] warriorscribe 2018-03-25 11:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Much of it still does. I don't know how it all works, even if I know how to use it. That's not so different from many other things we use without knowing precisely what is taking place. The people of my time navigate by the sun and stars without knowing what they really are.

[He shrugs, still smiling faintly.]

After one of the Fallen Angels' mechanical constructs, I'm honestly more relieved to see automatons who are designed to help.
zunesareawesome: (Brow furrow 2)

[personal profile] zunesareawesome 2018-04-02 02:23 pm (UTC)(link)
It was like that when I was a kid, going into space. Except I was kinda prepared for it, a little, watching movies and stuff. Kinda had a handle on what to expect, a little? But a lot still surprised me.

But man. I can't imagine not knowing what the sun and stars really are.

...Fallen Angels' mechanical constructs? That sounds kinda...hardcore?

Azazel, their effective leader. He built a world of technological marvels, claiming it to be humanity's future. There were many things he may have been right about, but...if we didn't earn it, it's not truly ours, is it? We don't know its dangers or its true value...
zunesareawesome: (Look behind what)

[personal profile] zunesareawesome 2018-04-04 01:18 pm (UTC)(link)
And this was like, in ancient times? Whoa! But did they help people or did it all turn out to be evil or something?
warriorscribe: (Something's out there...)

[personal profile] warriorscribe 2018-04-06 03:17 am (UTC)(link)
They truly wanted to help. They didn't realize that-...when God gave us dominion over the Earth, it meant it was our home to make. Every advancement, every triumph, even every failure, it belonged to us, as things to learn from and build on. To simply be handed such a life would be to never know if we could have done it on our own. If it could be adapted to the particular needs of a certain people. It was not ours.

[He sighs deeply - he's not done, because that's the tamest of the Watchers' problems.]

And good intentions notwithstanding, they made a dangerous pact with a demon prince, and everyone who died in their little world, with no way of knowing, consigned their souls to feed him.
zunesareawesome: (Wat)

[personal profile] zunesareawesome 2018-04-06 04:13 pm (UTC)(link)
...wow.

[Yep, that's just...wow.]

Your world sounds wild, man.
warriorscribe: (Looking back)

[personal profile] warriorscribe 2018-04-08 07:13 pm (UTC)(link)
My world is like any other Earth, as far as the majority of its people are concerned. It's the nonphysical side most people never see for themselves that's strange.

...I forget sometimes, the full extent of my perspective.
zunesareawesome: (No)

[personal profile] zunesareawesome 2018-04-10 02:31 pm (UTC)(link)
The fact your world has an actual nonphysical side is wild enough, dude.
warriorscribe: (Conversational)

[personal profile] warriorscribe 2018-04-11 03:52 am (UTC)(link)
And yet, there will be people like you, who will come to the conclusion there isn't, and the handful that can say any better will be dismissed as madmen. Some of them will be mad, in fact.

How is one to tell there isn't one? But that's the best assumption, really - if Heaven acts as intended, it should indeed seem - from a mortal perspective - that there is nothing else there.
zunesareawesome: (Brow furrow 2)

[personal profile] zunesareawesome 2018-05-05 08:55 am (UTC)(link)
...y-yeah. [And with that, now he's thinking about his mom and what she'd said to him and just--he can't, not right now. His voice hitches, and he shakes his head.]

I...I think I should check out something...else around here.
warriorscribe: (With a sense of urgency)

[personal profile] warriorscribe 2018-05-05 06:50 pm (UTC)(link)
[Oh, that's not a good reaction. His stomach twists and his throat constricts slightly as he wonders what he'd said, still afraid of hurting others. If there was some fact of his world that he'd inadvertently misused...]

Did I upset you? I'm sorry.
