I've got the spring from a mousetrap. I can keep an eye out for the rest, although we're not likely to find much out here in the new area.

You trying to build something to shoot rubble at those things? I haven't seen any piping at all that's usable my entire time here, unfortunately.

That's the plan, I know how to make that sort of thing.

Piping can be made with sheet metal or plastic if necessary. I'll take the spring, what do you want for it?

I've got some good pieces of scrap metal too. You can have those if you want them- properly shaped, I'd guess they'd give you at least one good shot.

Just let me know if it works, okay? I was wanting to build one of those things myself, I just hadn't collected enough to make it.

No. But we know rubble can touch them, and maybe even hurt them. Ideally it would be tested from enough of a distance to still run if it didn't work.

But it's worth trying.

OH are you making some sort of gun i was talking about that with godsend a couple days ago and i dont know if theres anything like that where i am besides pipes maybe because there was a house that was flooded and i reckon that means theres pipes somewhere in it though i could be wrong

if you really wanna do something substansiul youre gonna need actual firepower you know. we were talking about gunpowder though theres none of that here but there may be something that works close enough though im not a scientist really. for the pipes as well youd also need something strong less you want the barrel to fucking melt or whatever

youd also need to acount for multiple rounds less you want just a single shot type deal but ive never really messed around with those beside a really old veterli i had BUT you could have a few barrels to fix that like the lanc oval bore which i always thought looked real stupid but we dont have a lot of shit to work with here

it sounds like youre trying to do some bullshit with rubber bands but i dont think thosell work too well if youre realy looking to actualy hurt someone or something its like using a fucking slingshot id think the springs would work better though you need to find those and also figure out the single shot issue and youre still stuck on pipes anyways

your best bet is a four barrel spring type thing you can really get some force with like the lanc pistols and pray its good enough like i said though finding something cemical would sit you pretty

Sounds like you know what you're talking about.

But a rubber band contraption is safer than trying to do something with gunpowder or more springs, and if it's rigged right then it'll still manage to fire the rubble with high enough velocity to pierce flesh at a fairly good range.

Trust me, I've made these before.

no thats just bullshit? youre gonna pierce it but what do you plan on doing after your peashooter fires and youve got nothing else to do

you can run but these things are fast as they wanna be if this is about buying time youre paying in pennies

do you wanna reload this shit cause thatd be hard to do with a goddam rubber band machine id imagine. it wont do any damage that lasts and youll just be sitting pretty while you try and fiddle with your fucking slingshot unless youre not going after the nomalies and youre going after actual people

Have you considered trying to make a sling instead? it'd be easier to make up. you could always make the gun, or whatever, later. assuming the sling works.

People have already just thrown rubble, it needs to be something with more impact.

A good sling can still get you more than throwing would...a gun would be better but it seems a little far fetched for this place.

Yanno, I don't think high velocity rubble is gonna hurt those things any more than the regular thrown stuff does.

The stuff hits 'em but I don't think they really care that they're being hit.

You could nuke them with a ruined house from orbit and all it'd do is bury 'em.
