[This is stupid. John's well aware it's stupid, but he can't help asking a question that's been gnawing away at him for more than a week now.]

How tall is everyone? I've been wondering, meeting with different people here, what the spread of heights might be. Among other things. If you aren't sure on specifics or if you don't know the measurement system, I can give you an idea of how to compare units you might be familiar with.

And he's exactly as awful as you'd expect. His parents are lovely people. They invited us to Christmas dinner a couple years ago. Dunno what happened.

Bad kids happen to good people. [ Clint grumps. ] Never mind, good luck, you can have both of them, I'll take Al, Steph, Karkat and Davesprite in the divorce.

Steph can visit you on weekends.

Sorry - Steph can visit you and your wife on weekends. Does she want custody of someone else? I can ask her.

Well, for one, I'll take Karkat and Davesprite on the weekends, thanks. Al and Steph are all yours.

Are you playing favorites with our kids, Mr. Watson? [ he's gonna go so hard on this, poor watson ]

Dr. Watson, Mr. Barton. 'Fraid we're not on familiar terms anymore. And I'm not going to have you using the kids against me in this. I'll be keeping the car.

[ Clint ends up giggling like a moron. ]

Whatever, I don't need a car, I have friends who can fly. I'm definitely keeping the dog, though, and no visiting rights on that one.

I never even wanted a pet. You were always the dog person. [Have a mock-huff. John's amused, as well, which is nice after the conversation with the Joker.] Think I'd like your bow and arrows, too, if you're gonna make this difficult.

[awwnoun]

Wow. Over my dead body, buddy. [ He'll just skip over the implications of that. ] You already got the house and the car, there's no way you're getting my bow. I'll see you in court.

Once we find a courthouse, certainly. [John chuckles quietly, but he sobers a bit as he goes on.]

Really, though, Clint. It's good to have you back. There are too many kids here...

Yeah. Good to be back, in a way. [ He rubs his face a bit. ] I'm looking out for them. I know you are too. S'all we can do, you know?

Yeah. Enoch's minding Quark now, as well. Hoping that'll work out for the both of them. We lost Frisk... Sorry if you hadn't picked that up, yet. Emily, as well.

Yeah, DS gave me the rundown. [ Sigh. He's gonna just - private this real quick. ] ... Hey, how's Alfie and Royce? Tifa and Emily - I know they were all super close.

I'm - Tifa was a good person. And Emily -- [ Another sigh. ]

Depressed. [John sighs, as well.] They're keeping themselves busy, but between Emily and Tifa, then House calling out Alfie about stealing a couple of things and helping in one of his murders... It's nothing we need right now. Alfie's a dangerous arsehole, but he's not going to attack people without a reason. Same for Royce. They both want to get out of here... more than they want revenge, I think.

[He hopes.]

You know - right before I died, Tony had House's stuff? And his Vicodin.

Alfie called me straight up and told me he didn't care what happened to it as long as it didn't end up down the drain, which is what Tony was threatening. And I had no idea what Tony was gonna do with it, but when I heard about it, I was concerned because Tony had been in a weird place and I didn't know what the hell was going through his head. Alfie didn't want it to go to waste when it could be used for other people, and I agreed with him.

I don't know, I just think if everybody was a little less concerned with revenge plots and making sure the 'bad people' get their comeuppance we'd be out of this mess. I'm not gonna let murder fly, obviously, but sometimes you gotta work with a bad guy to get stuff done.

I'm not saying anything you don't know already, I guess.

I told Magenta I'd protect him, Clint. I won't be laying off.

Right, yeah, but also have you considered just not making yourself a target to protect other people?

Magenta's going to be in the Joker's sights after failing to murder me. Do you have other suggestions to get the heat off of him?

Make sure Magenta stays away from him? I mean, really, what's going to stop Joker from killing you and then going after Magenta anyway?

Just. Be careful, alright?

Already making sure of that as best I can. Soon as I know where the Joker is, I'll be relaying that on to Magenta for him to get somewhere else. I'll be careful, don't worry. Sherlock's with me and I don't want him getting hurt.
