[network] @standardissue; It's a Code, Cruel World [open] [Night 217]
Found something neat.
[There's light in the room that Kunsel's in, like the light from a computer screen. That's definitely not a tablet Kunsel's focusing his camera on, though. The room itself appears to be part of a small office. Hard to see the cubicles in the dark, but that hardly matters. That's not what Kunsel wants people to see.
No, it's the screen of a large machine that's been bolted to the ground. A screen that's still clearly working. It says "Please enter password" in plain text.]
Don't suppose anyone's found any random passwords lying around?
[He's posting this as much for his own sake as for information, since his discovery happens to coincide with an urge to share his fears that he's trying to resist right now.]

@beyonce | audio
Have you tried "open sesame"?
@standardissue; perma-video on his end
You really think someone would use a password like that?
[Wry because he knows that yes, yes they would. Watch him enter "open sesame" into the machine.
Only to receive an "incorrect password" in return.]

[As Steph helpfully pointed out, he doesn't know if this machine has a limit to the number of incorrect passwords it'll allow. Which is unfortunate, because he absolutely would be willing to try password after password all night long.]

[That's right, they're probably dealing with a halfway decent security setup.]
Well, that just takes all the fun out of it.

Hang on, gonna try something with some other people first. Might not need a password if it works.

@Spoiler ; video
There's plenty of ways around a password block, assuming you can use any of them.

[ She begins to describe to him the simplest way to hack a password, which is probably too easy to work. Still, may as well give it a go. ]

Okay, that got me... You might want to write this down. Got a string of text here that I hope means something to you.
[Insert coding and hacking gibberish here.]

That machine is working?

[
Since we'll play this before Steph gave her warning about trying too many passwords.]Damn, no luck.

[ It's possible!
Yeah. Don't want to be locked out and have to contact customer support for assistance.]Well, it was worth a shot. [ A pause. ] Any idea what it does?

[ She wiggles them to demonstrate. Wanna touch that machine. WANNA TOUCH IT BAAAAAAD. ]
Need a couple of coaches to talk you through getting in via less straightforward methods? Me and Rhys are both available. He's as good at it as I am. In my current state, anyway. Without all my siren hoodoo.
@standardissue; video
Figured that would catch your interest.
[Private]
Sure, I'll take any help I can get. You'll have to rely on my verbal descriptions, though, since I won't be able to show you what's on my screen.

[ Don't test her. The ones and zeroes will never end. ]
Any idea what it's for? If this doesn't work out, you could ask Miller about it. It's not the most palatable alternative, but it could offer leads on where to get the password if this turns out to be a bust.
perma-private
I think I want to exhaust all other resources before I go to Miller with this. It's a thought, but it could also be a bad idea.
Can't tell what the office I'm in was for. Everything's been cleared out. Or maybe I should say cleaned out. From the state of things here, I think this place is still getting cleaned regularly.
no subject
[ Either option is FREAKING ADORABLE. ]
I'm a little curious, though. Iunno. It looks a little small to be anywhere super important, but it being cleaned regularly would suggest otherwise. Right?
