[ There is something a little funny that Beckett is reassuring him using his attachments to someone special. ]

Yeah, I know. I know it's stupid... but some times when it just frickin' pops back up. [ Like tonight with how it keeps creeping out. Looks like everyone is hit with something tonight. The nanites acting up? Someone purposely doing it?

The mention of Hawkins though scatters his thoughts. ] He's did tell me I do a lot for him. We had this conversation before... he's always picking up the pieces, you know?

[All's fair in love and putting teenage angst into perspective. Beckett is old and curmudgeony, but not all of his hard-hitting truths are bad ones.]

Somehow I don't think any tales of Kunsel's dating misadventures is going to be tantalising, considering what some of my old acquaintances used to get up to. I've heard more than one that ended on "and then I had to bite her head off".
