Yeah, I don't think 'fun' is on the anomaly menu, unfortunately.

So it didn't have a form? Was it blob-ey? I'm wondering if it went back to being formless without anyone around it. But I don't know. I'm just trying to unravel this place, and it doesn't want to reveal any of its secrets.

Sorry it didn't work out for you. I understand wanting to see these things for yourself.

It was super blob-ey, now that you mention it. They said it'd have lots of legs for huggin', but it didn't look that way. You know how you--um--you might have a blackboard, and smudge a bit of chalk with your hand? It looked like that, but big and mean.

I just wanted to see it.

Yep. That sounds like the anomaly blanked itself out. Interesting. They really do seem to rely on aspects from our own minds, somehow.

Don't worry, though. I'm sure you'll see a fully-formed one before too long. They do seem to hit and run with surprising frequency.

Well, I don't know. I was expectin' a whole bunch of legs 'n shit, so it was a bit disappointin'. I haven't seen another one so far...er, well. Not quite. I saw somethin', but it was a hell of a lot different than the closetmonster.

Oh, you did? What was that one like?

They all seem to be unique, but there's a theme of a lot of eyes and creatures that look like they're made out of a lot of people. Others seem familiar sometimes. Did the second one look like anything familiar?

It was weird, it--it hurt me but didn't kill me, and I might've thought I dreamed it all up, 'cept I had some nasty burns on me. It did look like a big ol' mean eyeball, actually! I didn't know eyeballs were the hot thing 'round here. Weird. And creepy. And kind of mean, honestly.

Definitely mean. Oh- were those the days when we were in that strange white space? With all the staircases and everything? There were a ton of monsters then. I got hit by one, but it didn't kill me, either.

I don't know about any white space, but there was a path, and it creeped me out, so I just...didn't use it. And then I found that thing...I don't know. It scared me out of my fuckin' mind, alright? It saw me.

Oh. Right, the path. Yeah, we were attacked by something with a ton of legs that day. Human legs that it stole from people. I'm a little surprised we didn't get more eyeballs, honestly.

Did you get away from the giant eyeball okay?

I heard my closetmonster was supposed to look like that. With--with the legs, I mean. I like the concept of somethin' with that many legs--it's that much harder for it to balance, I'd think. I have balance issues, though, so maybe I'm just projectin'.

Got a few burns, but...yeah. I guess.

This one had an easy time balancing- it looked kind of like a centipede.

[ He didn't think the whole ordeal bothered him much, practical problems with having an injured leg aside. But a chill creeps up his back anyway. ]

Burns? Wouldn't have expected that one. Glad that's it, at least.

Oh. Ew. Yeah, never mind, that sounds nasty as hell.

And they weren't really burns, like you'd get from a cigarette--I mean, they were about the same size? But they hurt worse, and lasted longer. Didn't matter, since I was dead in a week or so regardless, but I still didn't like it.

Ugh. Those sound like acid burns. Don't know why an eyeball was spitting acid at you, but nothing makes sense in this fun little town. You don't have them now, at least?

[ Slight grumble. ]

I promised someone I'd try not to die, so my leg's still completely useless. I don't know if it's ever going to work again. One of the doctors gave me a cane, but it only does so much.

[ If he had telekinesis, he wouldn't even care. The pouting is probably evident in his voice. ]

I mean, it did eat me. I did mention that, right? I was very much eaten by somethin'. So it wasn't spittin' at me, not really. Technically. I mean, it's all just how you word it, I guess. Sucked either way.

[Magenta laughs bitterly.]

Hey, man, promises don't mean shit here. Die all you want: I don't think anyone's gonna care, not really--and the doctors here are useless. House is, at least. I'd probably be a better doctor than House.

House is good at what he's good at, and that's figuring things out. Watson's a pretty good doc, as long as you're not in the business of murdering people. Volakis is my current favorite. She's the one who gave the cane, came out to check on me.

And no, I don't think you mentioned that it ate you, but that clarifies some things. And yeah, I bet that sucked. That day pretty much sucked all around.

Alright, but consider: House is an asshole, and I hate him? I don't care how good he is at figurin' shit out; he doesn't use it to do good things. As far as I can tell, anyways. He's just a piece of shit. Watson is thicker'n a ton of bricks, but I guess he's alright. Guess I'll have to meet this Volakis, then!

Yeah, it did suck. It sucked hard--I don't guess you had somethin' similar happen, then? Everyone seems to have had a shit time.
