It is a role I have chosen for myself. [ He looks away, into the distance, like he can see the past laid out behind him. And he can, in his mind - an endless line of people he has loved. ]

Any immortal who chooses to live among mortals must accept such a fate.

An immortal, really? I guess that makes sense, if you're a star-cat like that guy said. You're much more approachable than some of the gods I've seen, though.

I am not a god. I am a constellation.

[ He has obviously said this exact thing many, many times. ]

Oh, that makes more sense with the star thing. So is the whole star sign thing actually true?

Which thing might that be?
grimalkid: (smile)

Man was the zodiac even a thing in the 1960s

The thing that humans do where they say they match up to some constellation based on when they were born and tell their fortunes based on it. Although I haven't heard any of them talking about being matched to a cat, so obviously it's not as good as it could be.

Who knows? Not I

For fortune telling mortals usually keep to constellations that can be counted upon to be in the sky.

I spend most of my time in the mortal realms.

Wow, so you just leave a blank spot in the sky? I bet some old star-watching guy freaked out the first time you did it.

Someone rediscovers the phenomenon every few decades. Most discount it as the changing of the seasons.

Humans are quite skilled at ignoring what they believe to be impossible.

Hehe, that's true. Which makes it all the more fun to confront them with evidence until they break.
absentconstellation: (serious cat business)

[personal profile] absentconstellation 2017-03-17 05:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Until they break?

[ He know what the Boy means, but there's an edge of disapproval in his voice. He would like you to try and justify that statement. ]

[Oh man, cat disapproval. He does not want that.] I mean, until they finally admit the supernatural's real, you know. It's safer for them to know that anyways.

[ Good save. ]

Perhaps it is. Many may go all their lives without ever knowing what mysteries remain.

Or getting the wrong answer.

Indeed. They do quite a bit of that.
