It's easier, but lonelier, I think. Maybe you lose them in the end, but at least you had someone for a little while there. Worth it while it lasts. That's why I keep trying.

It really is kind of a lose-lose situation, huh? Usually this, like, wouldn't feel so hard for me, but actually being around death is giving me some perspective, I guess.

I know. Trust me, I know. Most people don't know this, but before I even came here, I was told that my best friend was dead. No proof, just a report that it happened. I waited for him to turn up for years.
