Sylar - Prophet
And he clearly can't see much of anything. Just ugly monsters and dangerous people, and the occasional blue of someone safe. He does his best to shuffle towards those blue lights- he knows he doesn't stand much of a chance if anyone else catches up to him.
His left foot catches in the corner, where the wall meets the floor. The foot twists nearly imperceptibly, and Sylar groans deeply, having to stop for a moment to catch his breath. ]
no subject
Hey, hey, hey - stand there. Don't fucking move; you're gonna hurt yourself.
no subject
Bit late for that. I had a cane- not sure where it went.
[ Then the voice clicks for him. ]
Mr. Solomons? Is that you?
no subject
Yeah. Hello, Mr. Gray. My own cane is gone, as well.
[Along with the rest of his supplies. Sigh.
When he's close enough to touch Sylar, he reaches down and does just that, cupping a hand around his elbow.]
Can you stand if I pull you?
no subject
[ It's easy to tell which one. His left leg is the one with black strips of cloth binding it tightly just below the knee. A ring of dried-blood-brown decorates the jeans above and below it. Sylar waits for the pull, ready to feel the twinge of pain again. ]
And thanks.
no subject
[He positions himself on the same side as the injured leg, shielding it with his body.]
no subject
[ Once Alfie starts pulling, Sylar will push with his right leg, doing his best to get up in as much of a single, fluid motion as he can manage. And hey- if that doesn't work, at least he's close enough to the wall to reach out for it. ]
no subject
There-- there. Can you move?
no subject
...yeah. Like this, I can.
You don't sound too great yourself. Are you sure you're up for this?
[ No question what 'this' is. Sylar has suspicions things are off again, but since snatching those lights is the only productive use of time, that's what he wants to help Alfie with. ]
no subject
[He doesn't have the option of resting now. That can come later.]
no subject
[ Not really, but it's nice to think they'll take breaks. ]
There's a monster over there, by the way.
[ He points to the left at a wall, although he's unsure if Alfie can see it while holding him up like this. There's an open archway on that wall, about 20 feet from where they're standing. It won't be hard to get into the next room over. ]
It looks like a person. But I can't see people, so- figured that's what we want.
no subject
[He turns towards the wall, but away from the archway.]
There's a wall there. I don't want to move past it yet. Let's get a closer look while we're blocked by it.
no subject
They both move slowly, Alfie having to take more weight than Sylar would like. He does his best to ignore his bad leg when it hits the ground. ]
It's still a person. Wearing glasses. It's facing away--
[ He startles when suddenly it seems like the man's head unwinds, slicing apart in places that make no sense. The flesh parts (now stretched far beyond where the face show be) are embedded with large, fang-like teeth and tendrils that end in sharp points. One of the tendrils moves from one side to the other, clearly trying to find something. Sylar stops in his tracks. ]
...ah. That's gonna be a problem.
no subject
Tell me. Fast.
[Even with the wall there, he's a little nervous - "that's going to be a problem" could mean a lot of things. Maybe it's showing signs of being able to see them, wall or not. Maybe it's heading in their direction right now.]
no subject
His head opened up, like a squid untangling its legs. He has a lot of reach, six to eight feet worth. There's some spiky tentacle parts and a lot of big teeth and- I don't see the light, but I bet its in the middle of that mess.
[ He breathes a small sigh of relief. ]
I don't think it hears us. It's trying to scan the area, but it's not getting anything.
no subject
[Which isn't a very tantalizing prospect, but.]
You can see them; you do that. How many are there, and how big are they?
no subject
Two long ones with the sharp points- teeth maybe- on the the end. Those are about eight feet long? It's looking with those. Three smaller ones, maybe two feet each. And- ah, there's the light. It'd been turned away from me until now. There's a ring of eyes all around it. And I was right, it's right in the middle of the mouth.
[ ...and the light disappears again. The creature moves in a pattern, opening and closing its tentacle parts together. Sylar just has to make sure those parts are open rather than closed. Turning the situation over in his head, he knows they don't have much chance of doing this. But its the only option they've got. They have to take down as many of these bastards as they can. ]
Can you get me to the arch? I can play bait and yell when you need to step in.
no subject
She's not heartless, and the way he's limping does not look pretty. She recognizes him too, from when they ran into each other the night they were able to run all about town.]
Jeez. You look like you've been through hell.
no subject
Yeah, well. It's been a few months in Norfinbury. Guess I really fit in, now.
[ The way she's got him has him feeling far more stable, as well as a lot less scared. That's good, maybe he can actually get somewhere, here. They could help each other. ]
There's no monsters here. I think, anyway- I've got no idea how big the room is. Closest one is...
[ He points, upward and to the left, at a wall. ]
no subject
A "room" isn't exactly how I'd describe it. Ever seen a copy of M.C. Escher's "Relativity"?
[He probably has, if he's from any modern iteration of Earth. It was one of those kinds of things that was so famous that almost everyone had seen it, even if they didn't really know the name.]
no subject
[ For a blind man, he has a really impressive eyeroll. ]
Well, that explains the monsters I've seen standing upside down, I guess. Glad I haven't gotten too far, now. Let me know if I'm about to step off a ledge, would you?
[ The words are flippant, but there's a tension underneath them. He can't entirely hide the fear he's feeling. ]
