[network] @winston; PICTURES, Day 003, 09:00 [open]

[ ATTACHMENT: A picture of a piano, agonizingly normal-looking. It's from building 84. The picture is clear. ]

[ ATTACHMENT: A picture of an empty living room, from building 89. Unremarkable and clear. ]

[ ATTACHMENT: A picture of an empty bathroom, from building 89. Also unremarkable and clear. ]

Does anybody see it? A fog or a haze in the picture. In any of these pictures. They were there yesterday, but something's changed, presumably to do with what they gave us. The drug, it must dull the senses somehow. Must affect our vision.

[ What he's writing doesn't exactly make sense, but he's so certain that he saw what he did that he doesn't consider the potential contradiction entirely. ]

It sounds bizarre, but I wouldn't trust my eyes in this place. Any of our senses, really.

Did anybody else take pictures of anything? Did anything... change for you? After this morning.

[Clayton is not too subtle on the uptake, but he tailors his response once he realizes what kind of person he's dealing with here. He knows the type. They come into the ER every once in a while, when someone else drags them in after they've let their injuries or illnesses run amok for several days and they finally couldn't take it anymore. They tend to be kind of a pain in the ass. Clayton wouldn't necessarily disagree with that assessment, but hey, they're people, they have their reasons. He smiles and does his job and hopefully everyone comes out happier in the end.]

[To that end, Clayton has a kind of procedure for these sorts of people.]

I'm sorry. I guess you know where my head is right now, huh? These injections have gotten everyone riled up lately.

Do you have a good idea of how everyone else was feeling when you took those photos, and if you were experiencing anything different? I'm only making sure, you understand.

["All in his head," huh? Suddenly this is starting to make a lot more sense to him. This is a more recognizable subset of patient, and one that Clayton can immediately sympathize with.]

There's no such thing as a symptom that's just "in your head." There's always a reason. It's not my job to brush people off like that.

[Which may or may not actually be reassuring, but hey! It's true! Continuing on now.]

No obvious numbness. That's good. [Clayton crosses "hidden concussion" off his standard mental checklist.] You're right--no differences so far. The nausea, lethargy, and paranoia were all consistent as well, I'm guessing?
