[network] @winston; PICTURES, Day 003, 09:00 [open]

[ ATTACHMENT: A picture of a piano, agonizingly normal-looking. It's from building 84. The picture is clear. ]

[ ATTACHMENT: A picture of an empty living room, from building 89. Unremarkable and clear. ]

[ ATTACHMENT: A picture of an empty bathroom, from building 89. Also unremarkable and clear. ]

Does anybody see it? A fog or a haze in the picture. In any of these pictures. They were there yesterday, but something's changed, presumably to do with what they gave us. The drug, it must dull the senses somehow. Must affect our vision.

[ What he's writing doesn't exactly make sense, but he's so certain that he saw what he did that he doesn't consider the potential contradiction entirely. ]

It sounds bizarre, but I wouldn't trust my eyes in this place. Any of our senses, really.

Did anybody else take pictures of anything? Did anything... change for you? After this morning.

[Oh, a piano. She can't help but think that's pretty.....unique. Even in a normal world, not every house had one of those.]

Every picture is clear and unremarkable for me. Were the subjects fogged or hazed over before you used your camera?

And I've taken only one photograph. It was of my injection site.

I recorded some video yesterday and it had distortion like that. It's gone now.

[That means he didn't hallucinate it after all. He's not sure if that's comforting or not.]

[Pic...tures? Robb squints at the screen, looking at what had been sent to him. It was like a painting of something that looked... real. More realistic than real, not much of a painting. But those words... he did feel pain in his arm while asleep, but when he awoke Grey Wind was still curled around him.]

Winters can be harsh, even for a northerner such as myself. I don't recognize these lands, nor have I come across anyone in my searching.

[It was only him and Grey Wind, but there must be others given Robb kept receiving text across this metal square and sometimes moving pictures that he could speak too.]

I'd not even seen any hares or wildlife. I do not trust this place at all, though you can become disillusioned if too much time is spent in these conditions.

You don't think it's possible that the pictures were altered, rather than your senses? We were all taken here from across time and space, so something like that shouldn't logically be beyond the capabilities of these "administrators".

[His question irritates her. Why? Part of it is just that she's on edge thanks to hunger and dread and the bleak, freezing environment. The rest is that she resents any perceived insinuation that she has a sub-par grip on reality.

She grits her teeth and takes a mental step back. It's just a question. There's no tone to read into.]

No. I wished to share the image with the network, to confirm if others had also undergone the experience, and to see if ID: claytonator noticed anything strange about it. He's a doctor, so I assumed he would know.

They mentioned a need to stabilize our condition. Maybe their power or insight or whathaveyou isn't perfected.

Of course, that broadcast could have been a lie. But I think we have to take some things on a tentative sort of faith, or at least consider possibilities.

[On her end of the connection, she runs a hand through her bangs. Step by step, keep moving, outrun the avalanche of the past for as long as possible.]

It just seemed sensible. And I don't mean to say your idea is objectively wrong. If the injection was responsible, maybe the effects will wear off in time. I assume there was nothing unusual about the piano itself, besides the photo?

[ Hello blog-hater. Steph is fREAKING THE FUCK OUT ]

Wait, what happened exactly? They were clear and then they were foggy and then they were clear again?

Unnatural? No, not if you go further north of Winterfell to the Wall and past that. That is what I was told and believed to be true from my father and the kings and maesters before him. The longest summer has come to an end and winter is coming.

[But Robb knew this wasn't Westeros or at least quickly believing that more and more now. He didn't recognize any of these lands or what little architecture remained. And the word 'injection'... Now it made sense.]

Aye. My right arm is sore, but I haven't come across anyone yet in my searching nor has my direwolf picked up on anything.

Rubble, mostly. I was just filming things while I was looking around.

[Al is a while responding, as he's working out once again how to download and save the attached pictures. They may be unremarkable and pointless, but they may eventually turn out to be a piece of the puzzle. Throwing himself into this is helping him cope with the terrifying injections...]

I don't see anything, it all just looks plain to me. There's a piano, a bathroom, and a lounge, nothing out of the ordinary...

Wouldn't some people call that ghosts?

[ Not that Haku doesn't necessarily subscribe to the idea of their senses being altered - it would explain the injection and the weird feelings and near-hallucinations from yesterday. Not to mention that he's dealt with kinds of biological warfare back home too. But on the other hand, those footsteps Eiri was talking about from the house he woke up in on the first day..

Haku lingers for a moment before he sends another message. ]

If you believe those exist.

I've never seen that kind of distortion before, especially not in still pictures. It might be something specific to this place.

[hello yes did someone say weird hallucinatory symptoms]

I don't see anything unusual with the photos you've taken, but I suppose you were expecting to hear that. Do you feel unusual in any other ways? Dizzy? Numb? Strange sounds or blurred vision, outside the pictures?
genreblindness: (so I'm calling it a night.)

There aren't any ghosts or magic where I'm from either so we've got that in common.

I'm already filming everything I find, but it might not be a lot of help if even recordings can just change by themselves here.
