[ His voice is low, soft. ] You play the game well, but don't get cocky.

Does half the town know about Gwen? Wonder what some of the other assholes like me'll make of that. She's not a big deal now. I can make her one. Get all the bad guys and the good guys prying. You've got a lot of dirt on you lying around, Melborn. Things you care about a hell of a lot more than I do.

Oh, House. [ He leans over the table a little. ] Drag her into this, and I'll make sure what I did to you is nothing in comparison to what I'll do to Ecks.

Luckily, Tifa saves him from having to figure out what to say to that, and whether to call Royce's bluff. He stays exactly where he is.]
Your mistress is calling, little doggie. Go play with her.

Royce bangs his hands down on the table sharply, shoving it just a little in House's direction, more to try and scare him with the sudden movement more than anything. ]
I think I made my point clear. [ Royce says, voice soft. He takes a step back, and then turns and sweeps out of the room. ]

Why do you always have to make things worse, House?
no subject
Because it's what I do.
[There's more emotion in that and more honesty than he really wants, but he's entirely shaken, even as he tries to play it off as sarcasm.]
no subject
He won't touch Ecks.

[House stares down at his tablet, and his expression hardens once more along with his tone.]
Don't you have an elfling to go yell at, or something?

See? This is what I mean by making things worse.
