[network] @claytonator; WARNING: SHOTS [open]
[text - 15 minutes after injections]
[He's been in Norfinbury for scarcely more than two days now, and already it's Clayton's first instinct to grab the tablet he was provided when he encounters something odd. And there are plenty of odd things going on in this place. The state of the buildings he finds, the weather, the emptiness, the overpowering loneliness and suffocating anxiety--it's all reason to check in for information, and to make sure everyone else is handling the situation safely.]
[Being suddenly woken up by a shooting pain in his arm and being consequently paralyzed for an indeterminate amount of time later, for example, is something urgent enough to warrant this level of concern. As soon as there's enough feeling in his limbs to allow for it, Clayton starts typing.]
Just woke up to unexpected altercation in house. Seems to have been for a shot.
[Clayton inserts a picture of the wound, here, which is still raw and bruised. He knows an injection site when he sees one.]
Not sure what for, or what effects will be. Only symptom so far was short-term full-body paralysis. Will be keeping a close eye on it.
Not sure where the people who gave the shot went. Couldn't see them. Please check in and be careful out there.
[text - soon after ADMIN post]
UPDATE: Definitely some kind of vaccination. With side-effects like full paralysis, though, I would be cautious about assuming it's fixed everything. Please let us know if any other symptoms develop.

They're topical or brewed for drinking, not eaten raw, so while I sympathize with everyone's perfectly rational displeasure, I'm still not seeing the benefit of the concept.

Right, right... [He at least has the decency to sound bashful about his mistake before soldiering on.] Any case, injectin' meds gets 'em where they gotta go faster, usually. Ain't gotta worry 'bout waitin' fer the skin to take it in or to digest it or whatnot. That make more sense?

So what you're saying is, the needles are a shortcut. [There's a definite hint of "why didn't you just say that in the first place?" in Bard's voice, but he's not actually saying it. Barely.]

Well, yeah, if you're gonna be blunt about it. Faster path also means you need less of it, and it's good if your patient can't eat or drink nothin'. 'Course, also means you gotta stab folks to get there. [There's a pause as Clayton unconsciously shrugs on his end.] Ain't always the best. Lot of folks not fond of needles. It's a fair thing to be wary of.
