[network] @claytonator; WARNING: SHOTS [open]
[text - 15 minutes after injections]
[He's been in Norfinbury for scarcely more than two days now, and already it's Clayton's first instinct to grab the tablet he was provided when he encounters something odd. And there are plenty of odd things going on in this place. The state of the buildings he finds, the weather, the emptiness, the overpowering loneliness and suffocating anxiety--it's all reason to check in for information, and to make sure everyone else is handling the situation safely.]
[Being suddenly woken up by a shooting pain in his arm and being consequently paralyzed for an indeterminate amount of time later, for example, is something urgent enough to warrant this level of concern. As soon as there's enough feeling in his limbs to allow for it, Clayton starts typing.]
Just woke up to unexpected altercation in house. Seems to have been for a shot.
[Clayton inserts a picture of the wound, here, which is still raw and bruised. He knows an injection site when he sees one.]
Not sure what for, or what effects will be. Only symptom so far was short-term full-body paralysis. Will be keeping a close eye on it.
Not sure where the people who gave the shot went. Couldn't see them. Please check in and be careful out there.
[text - soon after ADMIN post]
UPDATE: Definitely some kind of vaccination. With side-effects like full paralysis, though, I would be cautious about assuming it's fixed everything. Please let us know if any other symptoms develop.

couldn't see anyone or open my eyes
what the fuck, why is it doing this now I don'tun derstand

[But maybe he shouldn't tell the other panicking people this. Gotta keep a level head. Loosing it won't help anyone.]
Keep calm, deep breaths. There's no reason to assume there are worse side-effects from the paralysis. We'll keep an eye on it and figure out what it's for and how to deal with it together. Okay?

[ He's a lying liar who lies. He's actually already on his own medication and he's freaking out at the possible conflicts or problems caused by taking it and also getting Mysterious Mystery Shots now and then.
But actually saying so would mean everyone would know about his meds and people might ask questions and HAHAHA NO, FUCK THAT. ]
it's all well and good saying do'tn worry about side effects but I think that's kind of a sreious concern for me.

[She shares a picture of her own injection shot as proof; her inner arm, the sleeve rolled up. A child's arm.]
Are you a doctor, sir?
[Assuming he is a sir based on that picture of a manly man arm.]
no subject
[All things considered, Clayton manages to keep his voice surprisingly calm and level.]
Yes ma'am, I'm a doctor. Least, that's what they keep tellin' me. [He offers a small chuckle.] You get shots often, little miss? Your doctors give you medicine to take lately?
[Read: "are you currently taking any other medication that could seriously react with whatever mystery concoction they just shot in our bodies"]
no subject
No, sir. The only shots I've ever had were for vaccination. [She had arranged the appointments herself, judging it to only be sensible to keep herself protected in that way. No one ever bothered to wonder why a young girl would show up alone at the doctor's so long as she acted as if she had every right to be there, as if it was perfectly normal.] I've never been prescribed medication, either, or have had reason to be.

Are you feeling okay now? Any dizziness or confusion? [Wait.] Aside from the obvious.
no subject
Not really. I can't say I'm feeling great but I don't think I'm having any side effects.

omg wtf!!!
[Enjoy this eloquence.]

It's alarming, I know, but you need to stay calm. Stressing yourself out is only going to exacerbate any unwanted effects.
[Which is kind of useless to say, Clayton realizes. It's been long enough that, if there are going to be any more ill side-effects, the medication has circulated around and will kick in eventually. Nothing they can do about that without a direct antidote.]
[Clayton realizes that nobody wants to hear this.]
Are you currently on any other medication? Are you allergic to anything?

[Which is to say: ] I'm stumped. I thought at first that the illness was an extreme sort of anxiety attack, but it affected too many people. A hallucinogen, maybe? I'm not sure.
Do you have any ideas?

It's for treatin' sickness, usually. [Now he could jump to conclusions and assume that he doesn't know anything about modern medicine, but that would be unfair. Leading questions it is, instead.] How do ya'll treat your sick?

[Yet another voice of what has to be a young girl, this one sounding significantly more scared than the last. Shiki hadn't been very active in communicating with others so far yet, having only just arrived yesterday -- being thrust into a scary situation by your lonesome with your only company being strangers on the internet doesn't immediately bring forth the "we're all in this together" mentality. After this morning, however... a little more talking seemed a lot more necessary.]
Being paralyzed for so long was terrifying, I thought I would never get up again...
no subject
Hey, it's all right! You're right to be worried, but it's all fine now. Ain't nothin' to be 'fraid of, alright? We'll sort it out.
voice | ID: M. Jones
[She sounds curious, and annoyed. In her experience, any injection that causes side effects like that isn't a good thing.]
no subject
[There's a long pause as Clayton mulls the possibilities over.]
...Don't think nobody's feeling sick like they was yesterday. I sure ain't. Are you?

So how can he feel a pinprick, how can he see one? And why did it paralyse him so? His voice when he responds is quiet and troubled.]
I got one too, Clayton.

[Very dry. George is angry but not at Clayton, and he's not about to take it out on him.]
They got me, too, and this kid I found night before last. Weird thing is, I do feel better 'n I did yesterday. Not sure I'd be too quick ta credit whatever they said about all of it, though.
voice
[Dry voice means dry humor, or at least an attempt at it. Clayton doesn't linger on it--George probably wouldn't appreciate having the primary issue at hand ignored.]
Yeah...that's what's makin' me think it's a vaccination. Must be some kinda sickness 'round here, in the houses. Ain't sure why they didn't think we'd need it, comin' in. Real odd.
[There's a long pause.]
...Who'd ya find, if you don't mind my askin'? Still travelin' with 'em?

What do you mean by "fixed everything". What was wrong before?

[...Now hold on a second.] I haven't seen your ID before. Did you just arrive this morning?
