[network] @claytonator; WARNING: SHOTS [open]

[text - 15 minutes after injections]

[He's been in Norfinbury for scarcely more than two days now, and already it's Clayton's first instinct to grab the tablet he was provided when he encounters something odd. And there are plenty of odd things going on in this place. The state of the buildings he finds, the weather, the emptiness, the overpowering loneliness and suffocating anxiety--it's all reason to check in for information, and to make sure everyone else is handling the situation safely.]

[Being suddenly woken up by a shooting pain in his arm and being consequently paralyzed for an indeterminate amount of time later, for example, is something urgent enough to warrant this level of concern. As soon as there's enough feeling in his limbs to allow for it, Clayton starts typing.]

Just woke up to unexpected altercation in house. Seems to have been for a shot.

[Clayton inserts a picture of the wound, here, which is still raw and bruised. He knows an injection site when he sees one.]

Not sure what for, or what effects will be. Only symptom so far was short-term full-body paralysis. Will be keeping a close eye on it.

Not sure where the people who gave the shot went. Couldn't see them. Please check in and be careful out there.

[text - soon after ADMIN post]

UPDATE: Definitely some kind of vaccination. With side-effects like full paralysis, though, I would be cautious about assuming it's fixed everything. Please let us know if any other symptoms develop.

I received an injection as well.

[She shares a picture of her own injection shot as proof; her inner arm, the sleeve rolled up. A child's arm.]

Are you a doctor, sir?

[Assuming he is a sir based on that picture of a manly man arm.]

I have issues with most medication. Reactions & stuff

[ He's a lying liar who lies. He's actually already on his own medication and he's freaking out at the possible conflicts or problems caused by taking it and also getting Mysterious Mystery Shots now and then.

But actually saying so would mean everyone would know about his meds and people might ask questions and HAHAHA NO, FUCK THAT.
]

it's all well and good saying do'tn worry about side effects but I think that's kind of a sreious concern for me.

[ Hurgh.

There's a pretty long wait before Tim sends his response - ten minutes or so, in contrast to the brevity of it.
]

does that even matter?
I mean I'm equally boned whichever way right, so

[YOU CAN'T KILL THE DEAD. Except maybe in this place, they probably could.]

No, sir. The only shots I've ever had were for vaccination. [She had arranged the appointments herself, judging it to only be sensible to keep herself protected in that way. No one ever bothered to wonder why a young girl would show up alone at the doctor's so long as she acted as if she had every right to be there, as if it was perfectly normal.] I've never been prescribed medication, either, or have had reason to be.

I don't know of any vaccines that cause paralysis in every patient. I guess it's safe to assume we all felt sick last night, but I'm not sure what it was or what caused it. You seem to know a lot about medicine, any ideas?

In what land is sticking things into a person's arm considered normal?

I got one too.

[Yet another voice of what has to be a young girl, this one sounding significantly more scared than the last. Shiki hadn't been very active in communicating with others so far yet, having only just arrived yesterday -- being thrust into a scary situation by your lonesome with your only company being strangers on the internet doesn't immediately bring forth the "we're all in this together" mentality. After this morning, however... a little more talking seemed a lot more necessary.]

Being paralyzed for so long was terrifying, I thought I would never get up again...

Might be safe to assume everyone did. What the injection was for is the question.

[She sounds curious, and annoyed. In her experience, any injection that causes side effects like that isn't a good thing.]

[Jay hesitates before answering. He is feeling far from okay, what with the hallucinations and the paranoia, but he's also fairly certain that those are completely unrelated to the shot he was given.]

Not really. I can't say I'm feeling great but I don't think I'm having any side effects.

no
I shouldn't even need to get shots
wtf how could whoever it was have gotten to so many people so fast

[If a nation is sick, it's nothing an injection would be able to prevent or help.]

There must have been a reason they could bring us all here and we'd have no recollection of it. The illness could've been a reaction to a drug or sedative they used. Other than that - maybe some sort of shock in response to the environment?

I've made a full recovery after the shot, but I'm not ruling out the possibility that it has side-effects. What would be the point of bringing us here to freeze to death, only to vaccinate us when we get sick?
pointnshoot: (okay but listen)

Herbs and rest, mostly. [Still noticeably doubtful, but in the face of an attempted explanation he's at least trying to sound a little calmer. This place was already weird enough even before the questionable futuristic medical treatment.]

[Somehow, this little injection has scared him more than everything else combined. Not because of what it might represent, but because it had actually done something to him... Him! He's a hollow suit of metal armour, he's been half dismembered before, he's had his pieces scattered, and he felt none of it.

So...

So how can he feel a pinprick, how can he see one? And why did it paralyse him so? His voice when he responds is quiet and troubled.]

I got one too, Clayton.
