[She's been thinking about this for days and days now. She's thought about it since House said it was stupid to keep everything a secret and that she'd get more sympathy if she was honest about her age. Since Beckett didn't understand why it was a secret at all. Then since Watson told everyone she was a murderer, but then told Clint she was trying to be a good girl.

Since she ran away from Clint and his people this morning even though he didn't try to hurt her once he knew what she had done to Duster.

She waits until after lockdown just in case they are all wrong and someone will try to find her after this. The video opens with her looking into the camera, her scarf bunched around her neck but her patchwork face clearly on display. Her expression is blank, her voice toneless.]

My name is Ecks and I am not human. I have decided that it is not a secret anymore. I am a golem made out of dead people, but I am a person and that is the part that is important. I am two years old and a few months and I have decided that I do not want to hurt or kill people when I do not have to, and that is also important. Doctor House and Beckett say that it does not matter what I am and I think I would be happy if that is true.

[It seems like there should be more than that to say, but she just stares a moment longer before turning off the camera. She will not bring up the murder if she does not have to.]

how does it work where you are from?

im weird in my own world thats half the point im making
i know weird when i see it
where im from usually dead things stay dead and theres no fixing it
but some friends and i played this game where that got more complicated
im going to simplify it but theres a few ways things can happen
sometimes you have a spare life called a dream self so if your regular body gets killed you can be revived into that one
or if you die on something called a quest bed youll rise up again with more powers and conditional immortality as something called a god tier
god tiers cant be killed permanently unless their death is heroic or just otherwise they just revive on automatic
sometimes player powers can revive or reverse death
and theres also something called a sprite which is like a fancy game guide that you get by dumping junk into a glowy orb called a kernel
and if you put something into the kernel that was dead itll be alive again
like my friend prototyped his dead nanna
none of it is really what fiction normally considers necromancy though
sprites are like
sort of ghostly?
but not always and some of thats just sprites being weird to begin with

none of that is how it works where I am from
that does not sound like a game?
unless those things are not real

no it was all real
it was a game that affected reality directly
which isnt how most games work but this wasnt the normal kind

we do not have that in my world

in my world there are many kinds of magic
necromancy is one kind
that is when a dead thing is raised by magic
a golem is when a spirit is bound in a construct
it is a different thing

granted most two year olds arent golems or capable of typing sentences that complicated but thats not the point

technically i think its more a technology thing but its at the level where science might as well be magic or the magic part is scientific
