[The feed turns on to show off the walls and floor of a building. Whoever is showing the video don't speak at first, they just awkwardly hold the camera up to show what is clearly blood on the wall and nearby floor.

It's a little while before Greed speaks up.]

Has anyone else seen something like this before? It looks like... [Like a murder happened here.]

Something happened here, beyond the residents just abandoning the town.

What the hell is happening in this place?

[ because bodies, blood on the wall -- the reports for this place aren't sounding good. ]

Is it fresh? [ not that he wants to know, because he truly doesn't, but it's worth asking, isn't it? if it's recent, there's plenty more to worry about. ]

[Greed turns the camera back on himself after a moment, shaking his head.]

It doesn't look fresh; I'm not sure how long the blood's been here, but if the state of this town is anything to go by, it's been here for a while.

Hmm. Like those bodies.

[He's not much of a talker but the connection clicks and he responds before really thinking it through. Damn, now what.]

In the park. [Yeah, thank you Captain Walker Obvious for more useless recap.] Some of them... Some of them had wounds that could cause that.

[He had no idea about the ones that didn't but clearly something crazy went down here in the past.

For the record, he didn't sound all that upset about any of this, his voice it's usual calm, rumbling tone. The pauses and restart of sentences was just his rusty way of trying to find the right words as he talked.]

Yeah, almost exactly like them.

[It's a little disturbing, to say the least.]

It's pretty obvious that it's... some kind of mass grave of whoever was here before us, isn't it? I haven't been able to find out what the hell is happening here any more than anyone else.

Something killed the people who were here before. Whether they're the previous residents or previous captives, I don't think we'd be able to tell.

No. We wouldn't. Not without more... [you know] ...evidence.

[He wasn't much of a detective but he remembers how it used to be working for the law. The memories make him feel a little odd. He chases them away.]

[That evidence has to be possible to find.]

There must be more information left-- there's not much in the houses I've found, but I doubt this "admin" has destroyed all traces of what happened to this place.

There are some. [He pauses to consider his words, humming a bit in the back of his throat.] There are photos and videos, scattered, pieces of the [puzzle, he wants to say] past. The residents here. Natives. Before us, before-- [Any others that might have been treated like 'us'.]

Many of the pieces found so far have been shared through the network. [Max even had found one and shared it to those interested.]

I haven't seen all of it, I guess.

[Not that that's a shock-- Greed has been hunting for his own things, focusing on the wrong things entirely for a while now with the intention of getting as much as possible.]

There's bound to be plenty more of this sort of thing, especially if everyone who used to live in this town died violently.

[That's... it reminds him horribly of the night that they tried to bring their mother back. The video can't record disgust in his expression, of course, but it's pulsing through in his voice.]

Are there any bodies? Or just... just the blood?

There's no bodies.

[As far as he can tell, anyway. He doesn't exactly want to go looking.]

[He hates to ask all this, it sounds callous to his own ears, but it's necessary.]

Old. It's probably been here for a while.

A couple weeks, maybe? Could be a little longer. It's not fresh, but it's not... ancient, either.

Do you think it was here before we got here?

[That's a worrying timeframe, as it's either right before, or right as, they arrived.]

Honestly, I can't tell.

[The bodies that Tim found didn't look like they had only been buried for a couple of weeks, but then again Greed doesn't know how any of them would be able to really tell that.

The idea of it being the blood of someone here isn't lost on anyone, either.

Surely someone would have announced had someone here attacked them.

...Unless they died and never woke up.]

[Because Clayton totally isn't freaking out about this, and based on his very calm, very stern expression, he would prefer if Greed didn't freak out about it either, but also, what if it's still there]

[Greed shakes his head.]

No, I haven't. Not thoroughly enough.

[...If he's stuck in here all night with a bunch of dead bodies...]

[Clayton chomps on his bottom lip before he lets himself say "you should get out of there." This obviously is not an option, and positing it will probably just make Greed anxious about not being able to do anything. Need to be calm.]

You travelin' with anybody else, or's it jus' you?

Just me.

[He spent the night not too long ago with a group of people, but they quickly went off on their own way after that. It's not very convenient, naturally, but Greed hasn't found anyone he wants to permanently travel with yet.]

[Oh, well. No one to watch his back then. That's not terribly reassuring. Clayton frowns.]

Hmm. ["Shit sucks," that hum says. Clayton takes a moment to come up with something better to say.] And it ain't fresh, right?

[And there's no horrible video distortion, which Clayton is starting to now associate with the appearance of death. So there probably isn't a body. Probably.]

...I'm thinkin' it's okay. Unsettlin', but you ain't in trouble.

[He quirks an eyebrow. This was also the guy who wouldn't admit to him that he needed to get his hand fixed up. Maybe he's hiding something?]

[He's paranoid enough that he won't be sleeping. Not that he sleeps well as it is.]

No, it's not fresh. Been here long enough it could be one of us, I don't know. If it was....

[He doesn't think he heard anyone say they had been attacked on the network, but Greed hasn't always been checking it. It... probably means something unsettling, anyway.]

I'll be fine. This house I'm in, it's along the far south wall-- pretty far to the west. I think people should probably avoid it, just in case there's something in here with me.

[ Like "something happened", alright. At least it's not too much of a surprising discovery anymore after all those buried bodies had been found. It seems like this place is just covered in death, one way or another. ]

If there's apparently all those bodies, it's not too surprising there's traces of blood too, right? [ Haku just sounds pretty.. casual about it though. Like this is just a normal Tuesday discovery or something like that. ]

[That actually makes Greed laugh. He's not worried at all by Haku's casual tone.]

This happens to you a lot, huh?

[ Yeah, it happens to him a lot, alright.. He's seen worse scenes even back when he was a little kid, but obviously that's not something he's just going to throw out there.

So the usual casually vague answers it is. It's a method that's worked well enough for him all his life. ]

I've seen something like it before.

[ He won't deny that much, with his attitude.. ]

[Greed sounds amused, almost curious.]

Most people aren't quite so casual about the idea of blood in a town where it looks like the entire population was murdered.

Whether we panic or not, nothing will change. [ It's a pretty simple fact to Haku - bad shit happens, so freaking out about it only makes it worse. Might as well tackle it as calmly as you can try to make the best of it. ]

You don't seem too worried about it either. Or am I wrong?
