[network/audio] @LELRIC; GUIDES; Day 62
A: Network (Audio); Morning; Open to All
Hey, everyone, it's Alphonse here.
[He clears his throat a little awkwardly. He hates having to open the wounds of Clarke's death, but it's necessary to touch on it when discussing the guide she made.]
Clarke hasn't-- she's still gone, but her work and the efforts she made to try and help everyone here aren't something that we should let fade away. I've taken over maintaining the survival guide that she made. I've done some editing to make sure the information is as up to date as possible, but a lot of the people who offered to be listed there in order to help aren't-- they're not here any longer.
[Which is a nice way of saying dead. Well over half the contacts on there, not to mention the two original authors, are all dead and gone.]
So I'm asking for anyone who has useful skills, knowledge, or just a desire to help to come forwards so that we can make sure there's always someone to turn to if they're needed.
Thanks.
[And a link to the survival guide will be put up for general perusal.]
B: Network (Audio); Evening; Open to All
[As night has fallen and Al is faced with another long evening of being trapped inside, his mind turns to how to keep morale up here. It worries him that people like Zack, who had once been so full of hope and fire, is now so drawn and subdued. This place is rough on them all, the losses and injuries of dear friends take their toll on everyone, and it's easy to lose hope.
It scares him that eventually people will simply stop fighting, and he can't let that happen.
Maybe he can make a slight difference just by breaking up the serious discussion over the network with something lighter, something to help people ease their troubles just for a short while and remember how to smile or laugh. But he doesn't really know any jokes or funny stories, or-- or does he? Tim has, after all, taught him one joke from his home.
A self conscious throat clearing echoes over the tablets, before Al pipes up.]
I think I might have found something important, but I'm not sure what it means. Could you help me?
[This link is sent publicly out to everyone. The man playing in the clip is Tim Wright. Al still isn't sure why this is supposed to be funny, but he hopes he executed the joke right based on what he was taught.]

[ Did he just get rickrolled
By Al
Using a video he made
He's mildly embarrassed about the whole network getting to see him sing, but the shame is overridden by the fact that he's a meme-loving fuck. ]

Did I do it right?

Hi Alphonse. I'm trying to make a guide like this too, only about the monsters here. Can you tell everybody if they find anything out to tell me about it?
[They haven't been having too much luck on that so far, though it admittedly hasn't been too long yet. Still!]
no subject
[And not at all in a good way, in very disturbing ways.]
Have you got any information gathered already?

threadhopping as we do; action
Hey, Frisk. What kind of info on the monsters are you looking for?
[He vaguely remembers Frisk making a post about this a number of days back. With everything else that's been going on, Steve had kind of forgotten about it. Oops.]
Yaaaayyyyy
Not sure it's what Frisk is looking for but it's the thought that counts

Furthermore, who is he?

it's sir tim, lord of all that is right

Oh. Actually it's supposed to be a joke, a friend of mine told me that playing this song when you said it was something else was funny and I thought everyone could use a little laugh.

I'm not sure how much of what I know is useful but I am always willing to share knowledge. I have little in the way of woodcraft, medical, or technological information.
[Which is pretty much everything Al is asking for. But he isn't ignoring Al.]
no subject
Right, I'll add you on straight away.
[He hesitates a second, before hie voice drops to a gentler tone.]
I'm sorry about Ellana.

I've also written some of that survival information down, which you can include or use as you like.

I'll make sure to add you to the list right away, the information is great too!

I'm not the greatest at teaching survival; not being human makes that a little tough, but I could probably contribute with what I have.
I learned a lot from the chimeras, and from Kimbley.
no subject
[He's happy to add Greed to the list, but...]
You learned it from Kimblee? Greed, this is-- we have to figure out what's going on here, because this isn't right.

@CmdrShepard; video
[She almost just used the future tense here. Clarke will appreciate it. When she presumably comes back. But Shepard's an optimist, not a fool.]
Put me down for giving people a hand with whatever I can. Platnetside survival skills aren't my really my thing, but self-defense, first aid, that I can do. I have got some training as an engineer, but I guess we'll be in a good place if that ever becomes handy.
@LELRIC; audio
He feels a pang of loss when Clarke is inevitably brought up again. She has been one of his main partners in planning and organisation, he doesn't know what he'll do without her solid presence to rely on.]
Mm, thanks, I hope she would be happy. Uh, but I know she would be happy to see more people offering their help, so I'll definitely make sure to add you to the list.

[Nathan isn't sure he wants to laugh or cry. He was going to make some wholly unhelpful remark about whatever "important" thing this kid found, but, well, well played. Bravo, young shitlord.]

[Also, now he can put a date to this song. Recorded in 2007, huh? What a good year.]

this is like really useful thanks :)
I'm a tailor so I can help with sewing!
I'm already trying to like do that
make as much warm clothes as I can
just hard without materials! :(
@LELRIC; text
Wow, I don't think we have any more tailors here, so that's definitely a useful skill to add to the list.

Morning, private
[Three or four lifetimes' worth...that's a lot more than "some".]
But it's mostly for desert survival, and while there was sometimes snow or hail, the cold was often dry cold, at night. I can't say it hasn't served me well, but I wouldn't want to be at fault for leading anyone astray...
[The external drive towards depression had been lifted. But that doesn't mean Clem didn't die due to his error in judgment. That doesn't mean it wasn't his decision that put him across town when Clayton was kidnapped. He's done wrong by someone too often in this place for his comfort, and he's wary of offering himself for support on a general scale.]
private;
[He isn't exactly an expert himself, but he has to do something or else he'll go mad.]
I'll definitely add you to the list, okay? I'm sure you won't lead anyone astray.
private;
b. action;
... he really sent you this? [ it's hilarious, it's weird, and it makes him wonder about Tim's stability even more so but. his brother seems to like him okay enough, that's all that matters, right? ]
It's pretty weird, isn't it? [ but he's laughing mostly. ] What does that song even mean? Their music is terrible.
no subject
[It's actually a good sign that Ed thinks it's terrible, for his brother's AWFUL TASTE is well known by now. Skulls on everything. God.]
I'm still not really sure why it's supposed to be funny, but the song itself is fun to listen to and upbeat, so it's got that going for it.

@lazybones91, voice
Wow. You the same guy looking for help to add to that survival guide earlier? The only thing I have to volunteer are my incredible skills in comedy, but I guess you already got that covered.
@LELRIC; voice
I'm not so sure about that, I'm definitely willing to step aside for a real comedy expert.

Audio | @Summoner | Evening
Sorry, Alphonse, but I don't understand what's going on in that...what's it called? Video. Sorry.
[ She pauses. ]
I don't know if this should be a part of the survival guide, but...
I'm traveling with only one other person, and except for when the shadow monsters first appeared, we haven't seen anything.
So...maybe that's a trick to force people to separate?
no subject
Yeah, maybe. If it is then we can't let it work, we have to work together and we're going to be stronger working as a team than trying to split off into tiny groups.
[He'll explain the song later, for now organisation is more important.]
